characters in a story by reading a passage with them. Talk about
character traits (characters on the inside and outside)

Mini-Lesson: Review an example of a persuasive paper and
discuss with students what examples are used in the paper to help
persuade
1. Students will be given an anchor chart of what types of
elements to include for persuasive writing
2. Students will have to pick a topic and begin writing their
rough drafts on how to persuade someone
Formative Assessment: Persuasive writing piece in writers
