Bronfrenbrenners Ecological Systems Theory of Development

Ivan is a matured, confident, and a responsible 18 year old boy. He has a younger brother and studies at a university. He
has a part time job in order to handle his own tuition fees. He has friends that have a good influence on him and helps
him with school work. And with the support of his parents, they somehow managed to fulfil their everyday needs. He is
concerned that his mother was at her low point in life turning 45 and was very emotional affecting him as he is now also
concerned with ageing. He is left at home alone for majority of the day because his parents go to work and often goes
home late. One day, he heard from his mother that his grandfather is ill, which affects him at times especially during
class. Recognizing his heritage and what it took to get where they are today, his grandparents was originally from Italy.
He was taught by the church there during his childhood how to live a fulfilling life. His university and family both share
the same belief which is (Catholic) that has helped him develop into a strong believer. His family and friends combined
have created a matured and responsible man.
