He went up into the mountains alone to pray, and He planned to join them later. The night grew very dark and a stormy wind began to blow on the apostles’ boat, now a good distance out from shore. From the mountain, Jesus could see far across the water, and He saw the men battling the waves in their litle craft. In the middle of the night He came down to the seashore and began walking toward His friends on the water, walking just as ifit were dry ground under His feet. Through the darkness the aposties saw the strange figure coming toward them on the water. Already frightened by the rocking boat, they began screaming with fea. “itis a ghost! they cried out, They did not know how else to explain the strange figure Then they heard a familiar voice reassuring them, “Do not be 80 alraid. Ibis” They knew il wes their Lord. Peter called out to Him, “Lord, if it really is you, let me come to you on the water.” “All right, Peter,” Jesus answered. “Come,” Petar climbed over tha side of the boat and tried to take a few steps. Sure enough, the watar was firm under his feet, With his eyes on Jesus, he began walking toward Him, But the sound of tha wind rushed past Peter's ears, reminding him of the storm, He took his eyes from Jesus and looked alt the leaping waves. In that moment, when he forget Jesus and began ta be afraid Pater started sinking. He called out, “Master, save mal” Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and caught Peter's. He pulled him up and helped him to his feet again. Then He sald, "Peter, you have go litle belief in me. Why did you become afraid when you knew that | was with you?” Peter had no answer to give. He hung his head in shame. (Once Peter and Jesus reachad the boat, the storm wind stopped as suddenly as ithad begun. Lucretia Mott was also disturbed by such a radical idea. f net for the efforts of Frederick Douglass, who strongly supported the resolution, the stated right of women's suffrage might have needed another day to make it into public discourse. The Seneca Falls Convention was follawed by a Rochester Women's Rights Convention two waeks later and an Ohio Women's Rights Convention in 1850. The first suffrage organizations were established in 1869 - one by Susan 8. It was used to construct elaborate beaded collars, haaddresses, and even gowns or overdrasses. Because of the manner of construction, few intact pieces have been found as the stringing materials have disintegrated over time. A few pieces have been found, situated in such a way that they were able ta be reconstructed, The beads were sill lying in the original stringing patiem which was ciscemible to the practiced eye of a beading master, Pinlerest has many pictures of the reconstructions, Some aboriginal cultures would string beaded netting around a dried gourd to make a whispering ratte for ‘ceremonial and /or dance use. The larger the beads, the louder the whisper. Bead nating is not a difficult craft to leam and coffers many passibilties for embellishment. The "Ball Gow" being taught in the cass is a very basic example which can be “dressed up" in many ways. Once leamed, let your imagination be your guide. Enjoy!
