Training Program Plan

Time is a precious commodity to everyone. All people are allotted the same 24 hour

slot of time for each day. Many people go to work at a set scheduled time Monday thru

Friday and this is what allows them to provide for their families. However, there are

many people who work two or three jobs leaving less time for family. In todays society

there are many single family homes and many with jobs that pay below the poverty

level. This does not change the desire of these people for family time or simply a

moment for ones self. This program was created to help students understand how to

maximize time management in order to allow time for family, school and self. During

this program students will learn how to identify networking opportunities and why

networking is important.

Needs or Gap Analysis

Friendly house is a community organization providing various types of assistance

to all members of the community. The organization offers classes and workshops to

assist members of the community with G.E.D classes, immigration/naturalization

workshops and English classes. Some neighborhood residents began to ask the

organization for help with balancing work and life. Currently, the organization offers

parenting and nutrition classes. However, no classes offering help to prepare them for

the obstacles associated with being a mother/father while balancing a job. Many

members of the community are young single parents or people managing more than

one job. Due to the increased request for assistance in this area Friendly House handed

out a questionnaire to every community member who came into the office. The
questionnaire offered three types of classes to choose from. The organization handed

out over 100 surveys, of the 100 surveys received, 80 were in favor of a time

management class. The time management class will review skills assisting students
