The generation of palm oil mill effluent (POME) alongside with the production of

crude palm oil has created environmental issue for the palm oil mill industry in
Malaysia due to its polluting characteristics. POME with its high organic content
is a source with great potential for biogas production. However, prior on the
nationwide application of biogas, economical analysis based on supply and
demand is crucial to ensure a maximized profit. In this study, a graphical model
based on pinch analysis technique for biogas production to maximize profit
based on end use application has been developed. Data from different source of
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME), which is collected from three different regions.
Composite curve for supply and demand of biogas has been plotted to identify
the most profitable mix from POME supply. Economical analysis has been
performed to assess the short to medium-term determinants of price
developments. This project has been identified as a preliminary study for biogas
industries development based on optimized of supply to demand chain.
