Activities :
T shows a few pictures of people effected by flood and prompts whatever ss can say
about the pictures.
T then plays an audio on a few news report on floods. Ss listen to the audio.
Ss complete a flow map about the causes and effects of a flood.
In groups of 3, ss discuss and share ways to help flood victims.

T shows a video of a place affected by haze from a volcanic eruption and prompts ss
Ss read an article on Stay Healthy, Breath Easy in their text book.
With the help of a dictionary, ss write in their vocabulary journal 5 unfamiliar words.
Ss then answer comprehension questions on page 29.
Ss do several i think map on word associated with weather and health.

T recalls the particles and contents of haze and prompts ss response on the dangers of
haze.
In pairs, ss use the internet to find information on how humans can help reduce the
effects of haze.
Ss create a phamplet on facts about haze and how to reduce it.
The phamplets are shared in a gallery walk.

Activities :
T prompts ss knowledge on the fair / carnival from the short story Fairs Fair. T asks
from where do the characters knew about the fair.
T asks what do they usually find at a carnival. Ss respond orally.
Ss are divided into 5 groups (food, rides, shows, service, gift/souvenirs)
In their group each s must think of a product to sell at their booth. They must sell
different things according to the categories.
Ss work out what they need to put in their poster to promote their booth / product.
Ss create the poster, t facilitates where necessary.

Ss put up their posters and wait for their turn to present and promote their product /

Other ss can also listen to their friends presentation and choose which boothe they like
best.
T listens to each ss promotion and assess them according to presentation and their
poster.
