RULES AND REGULATIONS

CHOIR MEMBERS:

1. Minimum number of singers is 6 and maximum 20 per choir (including the conductor). In
addition to the singers, each choir can also have 2 additional instrumentalists. The conductor can
also be a singer or an instrumentalist.
2. All members of the choir must be over 12 years of age.
3. All-male / all-female choirs are also permitted.
4. A list of all the choir members’ names must be emailed to the organizers on or before 20th Nov
2010.
5. ID cards will be given to each choir member without which, entry to the venue will not be
permitted.
6. Choir members can be of any religion.
7. At least 80% of the choir members must be amateurs.
8. Members from 1 choir are not permitted to take part or assist another choir.

MUSIC:
1. The music selected should be Christmas Music / Carols only.
2. At least one of the carols should be in English. Other languages are also permitted.
3. Maximum time allotted per choir is 6 minutes & maximum of 10 minutes of singing time. Choirs
exceeding 12 minutes will be disqualified.
4. Each choir should list 6 carols in the form of which only 3 will be selected by the organizers for
the elimination round.
5. Selection will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. This will be done in order to avoid
repetition of carols by the choirs.
6. Confirmation of the carols will be sent across by the organizers to the contact email address
specified in the form within 5 working days of submitting the form.
7. Choirs can use any style of music e.g.: classical, jazz, pop, etc.
8. The music may be sung Acapella or with accompaniment. Only 2 instruments will be permitted.
9. Choirs are permitted to sway, dance, wear costumes and carry props for presentation (but this is
not mandatory)
10. Choir members are requested to dress appropriately as the venue for the competition.
11. The organizers have the right to cancel a particular carol if offensive language is used or if the
performance offends any one in any way.
12. 8 mikes will be provided for the singers & instrumentalists. Facility to connect an organ will also
be available.
13. Choirs are requested to bring their own instruments.

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

1. The registration fee for each participating choir is Rs. 1000/- in the form of a DD/ Pay Order
drawn in the name of Spark! E, Mumbai.
2. The registration fee for each participating choir is as follows:

11-15 members Rs. 1500/-
16-20 members Rs. 2000/-
3. The organizers are not liable for any expenses borne by the choir.
4. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, once the registration form is
accepted and the receipt issued.
5. The registration forms will have to duly filled with all the required information and mailed or
couriered to the address listed below.

JUDGING:

Choirs will be judged on the below mentioned criteria:

1. The Judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
