List of most viewed YouTube videos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Psy performing "Gangnam Style" in Sydney in 2013. The "Gangnam Style" music
video has been the most viewed video on YouTube since November 2012, with
over 2.89 billion views as of July 2017.

This list of most viewed YouTube videos contains the top 80 videos with the
most views of all time, as derived from YouTube charts.[1] Videos that YouTube
suspects have had their view counts manipulated are not included in this list.[2]
View counts are based on the YouTube website; many of the videos are music
videos that play through YouTube's partner site, Vevo, and YouTube view counts
will lag those of Vevo by a few days.[1] Of the 80 videos in this list, 77 are music
videos, with 54 of them being Vevo videos.

These videos include the "Billion View Club", a group of videos whose view
counts have exceeded one billion (109) views each. Prior to June 28, 2015, only
two videos, "Gangnam Style" and "Baby", had reached this milestone, but less
than 3 months later, on October 7, 2015, ten videos had done so.[3] As of July
2017, a total of 67 videos have exceeded one billion views, 14 of which have
exceeded two billion views.[4]

The five fastest videos to reach one billion views are "Hello" (87 days),
"Despacito" (97 days), "Shape of You" (97 days), "Sorry" (137 days), and
"Chantaje" (140 days).[3][5][6][7]

The five fastest videos to reach two billion views are "Despacito" (154 days),
"Sorry" (394 days), "See You Again" (515 days), "Hello" (620 days) and
"Gangnam Style" (684 days).

As of July 2017, Justin Bieber is the only artist to have four videos exceeding one
billion views. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris each have three videos that exceed
one billion views, while Katy Perry, Fifth Harmony, Psy, Adele, Ellie Goulding,
Shakira, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, and Ariana Grande each have two. Taylor
Swift is the only artist to have two videos exceeding two billion views.
