The purpose of an air admittance valve is to provide Slanting or horizontal Ventilair Air Admittance Valves

a method of allowing air to enter the plumbing drainage
system to prevent siphonage of plumbing fixture traps. Accessibility must be ensured, for maintenance purposes.
It is a one-way valve designed to allow air to enter the In case of installation in concealed location, sufficient
drainage system when negative pressures develop in air supply must be available.
the piping system. The device closes by gravity and seals
the vent terminal at zero differential pressure (no flow If fitted to a horizontal waste pipe, the Ventilair Air
conditions) and under positive internal pressures. Admittance Valve must be installed at least one pipe
thickness vertically above the level of the pipe.

variants of Ventilair Air Admittance Valves into the Illustration from DIN EN 12056-2, installation possibilities

Ashirvad systems can each be fitted to pipes of three 11
different sizes:

The nominal connection diameters have been selected
to make it possible to fit the valve to a pipe of diameter 6
DN 90 and DN 40 by inserting it into a sleeve. If the valve
is to be inserted into a pipe without a sleeve, of nominal 8
dia DN 100 and DN 50, the rubber connector has to be
used. For nominal diameters DN70 and DN30, the rubber
connector is used to allow the valve to be pushed onto a 1. Bathtub, 2. Washbasin, 3. WC, 4. Floor drain, 5. Ventilair
