ABSTRACT

Administratively the study area is located in Selopamioro region, Imogiri

district, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta province. Astronomically located at
coordinates 110 21' 05" E - 110 26' 00" E and 07 55' 35" S - 0758' 50" S.
Based on the Indonesian Earth Face (RBI) map, the study area located at the east
of Bantul Sheet (1408 -021) and at the west of Imogiris Sheet (1408-022), with
map scale 1: 25.000 published by Bakosurtanal.
The research method used is the geological surface mapping. That method
does by direct observation of geological data are exposed at the surface of the
earth, including: rock type, rock bedding, rock slope, the contact boundary,
geological structure, and other geological phenomena.
In physiography the study area included into Southern Mountain Zone and
Solo Zone. Based on the calculation of morphometry and analysis of
morphogenesis, the study area was divided into 5 (five) geomorphological units,
namely geomorphology: flat fluvial geomorphological unit (F1), weak undulated
denudasional geomorphological units (D5), hill-strong corrugated structural
geomorphological unit (S3), weakly undulated denudasional geomorphological
units (D1) and weakly karst topography geomorphological units (K1).
Stratigraphic research was divided into five rock units, with sequences from
old to young are: Nglanggran basaltic closed fabric breccia units, Nglanggran
basaltic open fabric units, Nglanggran tuffaceous unit, Wonosari boundstone
units, and Shaly to pebbly unconsolidated sediment unit. Geological structures
formed in the study area are joints (shear joints and tension joints), Kali Opak
and Kali Oyo normal fault, Kedungjati sinistral fault, Selopamioro and Srunggo
dextral faults.
Natural resources found in the study area consists of land resources, water
resources. Natural disasters in research are soil movement and earthquakes.
For the specific problem the author are trying to raise about the analysize
of Opak Fault based on gravity data. Based on data cross section intepretation of
Pundong and Imogiri line, the conclusion is we can observe that the layer of
limestone (2,7 gr/cm3) included in Wonosari Boundstone unit. Breccia unit (2,6
gr/cm3)in geological map included in Nglanggran closed fabric Basalte breccia
unit or Nglanggran open fabric basaltic breccia unit. Volcanic sediments and
pebbly sandstone in the geological map included in shaly to pebbly
unconsolidated sediment unit.
