BARC1001:THESIS

INTENT:Thesisprojectsmustreflecttheculminationofthedevelopmentofthestudentsarchitecturalskillsand
designattitude.Theprojectmustbechosensoastoaddressandresolve,throughdesign,allaspectsofthedesign
process.

METHODOLOGY: The student must submit to the department the synopsis of at least two different
design/research projects for approval out of which one would be selected depending on its merit for scope of
designinterventionanditsscale.

Aguidetosupervisethestudieswillbeappointedbytheheadforeachstudent.Regularprogressinstudiowillbe
monitored and internal assessment will be carried in six stages during the exercise, each stage will have a
presentationtotheinternaljuryforthesis.

Thestagesubmissionsmustbebasedandsupportedbydetailedanalyticalstudiesthatlaydownthevalidityofthe
designcriteriaanddetailedmethodology.Thefollowingarethebasicguidelinesfortheplanningthethesisdesign
