RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Admission & Enrolment:

a. Admission is given strictly on first-cum-first basis.


b. Admission forms to be downloaded from web site. www.suvidya.ac.in.
c. Fill-in all the details and email scanned copies alongwith all the required documents attached.
d. All the documents required for admission should reach us 2 weeks prior to commencement of the
Training Program.
e. Your admission shall be confirmed only after verification of all completed documents and receipt of fees.
f. Invitation Letter for Visa processing shall be sent only after receipt of fees.
g. Assignment for basic engineering will be emailed to you after completion of admission procedure that will
be required to be submitted on the first lecture (only for the Piping Engineering Training Program).
h. Students shall reach SIT, Mumbai atleast one day prior to the start of Training Program.

2. Accommodation:

a. Candidate who requires accommodation shall confirm through email or in writing.


b. As per the requirement, accommodation may be arranged in Hotels or Dometry provided by SIT.
c. Accommodation charges shall be informed to students that will be extra, at actual.

3. Mode of Payment:

a. 100% in advance at the time of admission, along with the duly completed admission form.
b. Payment to be made thru NEFT transfer to Suvidya Institute of Technology Pvt. Ltd. Axis Bank Account.

4. Documents required for Admission:

a. Admission form duly filled, incomplete forms will not be accepted.


b. Attested/ Self-attested photocopies of Mark Sheets for all Years/ Semesters.
c. Attested/ Self-attested photocopy of Degree/ Diploma Certificate.
d. 4 Nos. of passport size photographs (size 3.0 cm X 2.5 cm) with name written on the reverse.
e. Attested/ Self-attested Photocopy of Passport.
f. In case of Self-attested original documents will be verified at the time of admission.
g. Students shall surrender their Original Passport on arrival at SIT, Mumbai that will be kept in safe custody
and returned at the time of departure from India.

5. Admission Transfer :

a. Admission transfer fees, subject to USD rate:


Upto last day of admission : Nil
After the last date of admission & one day prior to the start of : 10% of total fee

b. Admissions are strictly non-transferable on any other name and for any other Training Program.
c. Admission will be transferred only on receipt of Application through mail or letter.
d. Transfer of admission will be allowed for consecutive two batches.

6. Admission Cancellation:

a. Admission Cancellation charges, subject to USD rate:


Upto last date of admission : 15% of total fee
After the last date of admission & one day prior to the start of : 30% of total fee

On the first day of the Training Program and onwards : Not refundable, at any circumstances
b. Admission will be cancelled only on receipt of Application through mail or letter.

c. Admission shall be cancelled, where students fail to attend first three lectures or fail to inform for
absenteeism.
d. Fees refund shall be done only thru Bank transfer and subject to Dollar rate.

7. Stationery required:

a. Scientific Calculator
b. Pen (Blue, Red and Green)
c. Highlighter (Yellow)
d. Pencil 0.5mm and Eraser
e. Compass Box with geometrical accessories
f. Additional stationery may be purchased from SIT, only in the break time.

8. SIT shall provide:

a. Training Material
b. Case Study Material
c. SIT Notebook - 1 No.
d. Pen (Blue) - 1 No.

9. Attendance:

a. Attendance will be noted only through Biometric Finger Scan Reader. Ensure to complete your biometric
finger scan registration on first day of batch from the Training Co-ordinator.
b. Manual attendance will not be taken into account.
c. In case of any problem faced during punching, kindly inform to your Training Co-ordinator, in writing
immediately.
d. 3 late comings will be marked as one absent.
e. Late comers will be allowed to enter the training room only after half an hour of lecture start time.
f. You will be entitled for 3% bonus marks and a Certificate of Appreciation for 100% attendance.
g. Students only with and above 75% of attendance will be allowed to appear for the final examination.
h. In case of absenteeism, students will collect notes from other classmates and lecture will not be repeated
at any circumstances. If required students may attend the additional lecture with other ongoing batch, on
payment of ` 1500/- per lecture.

10. Unit Test & Assignment criteria:

a. Unit Tests & Assignments shall not be repeated, for any reason, whatsoever.
b. Assignments shall be dropped in the Assignment Box with proper assignment covering page. Complete
information shall be filled on the covering page of the assignment.
c. Assignments shall be completed within the time period given by the Faculty.
d. Assignments submitted late shall be checked without giving any marks.
e. Assignments may be submitted personally, through friends or through email. In case of email, hard copy
is required to be submitted later.
f. Assignments shall be collected within a month from completion of course.

11. Final examination:

a. Students only with and above 75% of attendance will be allowed to appear for the final examination.
b. Students unable to appear for the examination shall inform the Training Co-ordinator.
c. Grade of certificate is based on the students average score in Unit Test, Assignment and Final Exam.
d. Weightage:Unit Test - 30%, Assignment - 15%, Final Exam - 50%, Attendance - 3 % and Discipline - 2 %.
e. Criteria for Grade : Distinction - 75% and Above
I Class - 60% to 74.99%
II Class - 50% to 59.99%
No Certificate - 49.99% and less

12. Re examination:

a. Repeaters will be allowed to appear for re-exam.


b. Repeater as well as student unable to appear for final exam will be allowed to re-appear for examination
with additional fees of ` 2250/- + 12.36 % Service Tax extra.
c. Students appearing for re-exam will not be entitled for I Class.
d. Students shall be allowed to appear for the final exam only for 2 attempts, excluding same batch exam.
e. Students failing in the 3rd attempt may apply for re-admission.

13. Class improvement examination:

a. Students passing with second class in the first attempt shall be given opportunity of Class Improvement
to re-appear for examination with additional fees of ` 750/- + 12.36 % Service Tax.
b. Student interested to re-appear shall surrender their earlier certificate.
c. Class Improvement will be allowed only once and Grade will be updated based on the performance in the
class improvement test.

14. Issue of Certificate:

a. Graduate Engineer will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma and Diploma holder with Post Diploma
certificate, irrespective of the Training Program content.
b. Certificates are awarded only to the students, after successfully completing the Training Program.
c. Students shall collect certificates within one month of convocation and those unable to collect personally
may request to dispatch by courier at given address, subject to students risk and on payment of courier
charges.
d. Certificate may be issued in absence of student, but only on submission of authority letter.
e. Duplicate certificate, stamped Duplicate may be issued only on payment of additional charges of ` 250/.
f. Best performing students are awarded with Medals - 1st Ranker - Gold Medal
2nd Ranker - Silver Medal
3rd Ranker - Bronze Medal

15. Co-ordination & Communication:

a. No verbal communication will be encouraged to avoid any kind of dispute.


b. Students shall drop their suggestions, requirements and feedback only in writing in the Suggestion Box.

16. Other rules:

a. Students are required to be thorough in English language, same being the Medium of Instruction.
b. Students are required to complete the Training Program and appear for examination of the same batch.
c. SIT shall not be responsible for the completion of course for irregular students.
d. Students are requested to inform the Training Co-ordinator for any change in mobile number, email ID or
postal address for all communications.
e. Change in lecture dates and timings will be informed on Website or vide SMS.
f. On demand, full day lectures will be arranged once in a month with advance information to all.
g. Parking is not allowed in front of other gates/ doors, advised to park only in the PARKING areas.
h. Library facilities are provided subject to its rules and regulations.
i. Visa being endorsed only for attending training at SIT, students are forbidden from taking admission
elsewhere for any other course or do any other activity.

17. SIT reserve rights:

a. To change the Time Table in case of any unavoidable circumstances.


b. To change the Training Content any time as per the current job requirement.
c. Change in the fee structure without giving any prior notification.
d. To debar students for undisciplined behavior without any prior notification.
e. All legal issue subject to Indian jurisdiction.

a. What do you mean by Oil and Gas Sector?


Oil & Gas sector deals with extraction of oil and natural gas from earth. A thick flammable, yellow-to-black
mixture of gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrocarbons that occur naturally beneath the earth's surface are
separated into fractions including natural gas, gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, fuel and lubricating oils,
paraffin wax, and asphalt and is used as raw material for a wide variety of derivative products. Oil and
Gas sector is a very important part of our life, 65% of our daily requirements are produced thru this sector
like cooking gas, petrol, diesel, etc. There are various companies like Reliance, HPCL, BPCL, ONGC in
this business.

needs are increasing fast, warranting a robust demand for oil and natural gas. The share of oil and

f. Whether certification is affiliated to any university or whether this certificate is valid, abroad?
SIT is an Autonomous Institute in OIL and GAS sector and not affiliated to any University or Board but
highly recognised by the Industry.

SIT is an ISO 9001:2008 organization, certified by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Govt. of
India.

g. Why does SIT provide only job assistance and no guarantee?


Getting job solely depends on the performance during the Training Program and the interview. Students
thorough with subject knowledge should definitely crack the interview, as industry is in need of skilled
manpower.

h. Will the past experience in different field altogether, be of any help in future?
You can definitely take risk of changing your field but one should be absolutely clear about his/ her path
forward. After completing the training one should be ready to work with small consultants and

i. Do you conduct any Site Visit? How many visits are conducted during the Training Program?
There will be site visit only once during the Training Program. Site visit will be arranged at industrial plant
either in shut down or not working conditions. (Except HVAC and Offshore Engineering)

CODES OF CONDUCT

1. SIT is a centre of learning & development and recognized globally for quality training & ethics.
2. Only those who have potential of learning, self-development and have ability to abide with all the Rules and
Regulations of the SIT shall enroll for Training Programs.
3. Required to be highly punctual and regular in attending the lectures.
4. Required to wear formal dresses only, Jeans and T-shirts are strictly prohibited.
5. Required to maintain utmost discipline & utter silence in the Training room during the lecture hours.
6. Use of Mobile phones in SIT premises is strictly forbidden.
7. Smoking, chewing-gum/ beetle leaves/ tobacco/ gutka, wearing caps, sun glasses and ear/ head phones is
strictly prohibited in and around SIT premises.
8. Student shall take care of SIT property and those causing damage shall be actioned.
9. Required to be polite with SIT staff and all other fellow students and shall avoid needless arguments.
10. Wearing the Identity Card is mandatory and defaulters shall be marked absent for the day.
