Title : BUSINESS COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF OFFICE


ADMINISTRATION GRADUTES IN CAMARINES NORTE STATE
COLLEGE

The main objective of this study is to determine the business communication


skills of office administration graduates in Camarines Norte State College academic year,
2014-2015 and the following : (1) the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender,
civil status and employment status. (2) the business communication skills acquired by
Office Administration graduates in Camarines Norte state College, Academic year 2014-
2015, and (3) Factors affecting the acquisition of office administration graduates in terms
of Business Communication, (4) proposed strategies in improving business
communication skills.

The researchers employed descriptive survey method and derived through the
dissemination of survey questionnaires. The data gathered were interpreted with the use
of statistical tools such as percentage, weighted mean and ranking.
The findings of the study are as follows: (1) as to profile of the respondents,
majority are in the bracket of 20-25, female, single, employed, clerks and permanent. (2)
As to communication skills. In the usage of active listening skills during meetings,
reports and other matter is in the highest rank. In terms of technological skills, ability to
file and organize documents properly which is got the highest rank. In terms of
organizational skill, the skill that got the highest rank is in the ability to build good
relationship with co-workers and clients. General total results correspond to the bracket
of highly skilled. (3) As to factors affecting job performance of Office Administration
graduates in terms of business communication skills. All most of the respondents already
encountered the cultural differences in dealing with people such as their behaviors,
beliefs and values, cultural background and experiences which also got the highest rank
among the factors affecting job performance.
