Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
FMLA allows eligible employees to take an unpaid leave of absence for generally up to 12 work weeks in any 12 month
period for the birth or adoption of a child, to care for a family member, or if the employee themselves has serious health
condition. An eligible employee is an employee who has been employed by Habasit for at least 12 months and
worked at least 1,250 hours in the year. Certain states may allow for leave in excess of 12 weeks. Habasit will always
adhere to all Federal, State and Local laws.
Accrued but unused PTO must be taken for unpaid leave of absences.
PTO does not accrue while out on leave.
*Evidence of Insurability is only waived at time of new hire for up to $200,000 on yourself, up to $50,000 on your spouse
at up to the maximum of $10,000 per child.
