The Waste
The waste come out from the things that we
bought/consumed
The intention to buy has derived from the things
that we want.
What the things we want has been constructed
from what we actualy need and most just to
accomplished our emotion.
If we able to control our need and want we able
to manage the waste.
Definition of environmental sustainability.
A state in which
the demands
placed on the
environment can
be met without
reducing its
capacity to allow
all people to live
well, now and in
the future. Sustainability is not
abaut destination, it
was more a direction.
Karena apabila kita salah dan tidak peduli
maka akibatnya menumpuk dan menjadi
sangat besar
Contoh sederhana: pembelian battery,
disarankan yang rechargeable sehingga bisa
mengurangi sampah B3
Green Purchasing
Green purchasing includes the acquisition of products or
services that have environmentally preferable characteristics
such as

1. Recycled Content or Easily Recyclable

2. Bio-based or Bio-Degradable
3. Energy and Water Efficient Products
4. Use Alternative Fuels or Renewable Energy
5. Eliminate Hazardous or Toxic Chemicals
6. Locally Produced

Definition of Green
Procurement (EPP)
Products and services that have a lesser or reduced effect on

Principles of Life Cycle Costing
Life Cycle Costing (LCC) /Whole
life costing
1. Technique to establish the total cost of ownership
2. Structured approach that addresses all the elements of cost
3. Can be used to produce a spend profile of the product or service over its anticipated
life-span
4. Results can be used to assist management in the decision-making process where there
is a choice of options
5. Accuracy of analysis diminishes as it projects further into future
most valuable when long term assumptions apply
to all options and have the same impact

Principles of Life Cycle Costing
Acquisition costs - incurred between the decision to proceed
with the procurement and the entry of the goods or services to
operational use
Operational costs - incurred during the operational life of the
asset or service
End of life costs - associated with the disposal, termination or
replacement of the asset or service. In the case of assets,
disposal cost can be negative because the asset has a resale
value.
A purchasing decision normally commits the user to over 95
per cent of the through-life costs. There is very little scope to
change the cost of ownership after the item has been
delivered.

Benefits of LCC analysis
Evaluation of competing options in purchasing
Improved awareness of total costs - visible costs of any
purchase represent only a small proportion of the total cost of
ownership
More accurate forecasting of cost profiles
Performance trade-off against cost
Sustainability benefits reduced waste and CO2 emissions

Defining the need
The need of the procurement should always be framed within
the parameters set by Organizaation Policies.
The Check list :
1. What is the procurement aiming to achieve.
2. Do we really need these purchase.
3. Do we set up the specification in the right manner.
4. What happen of the product when it come to the end of
life.
5. How does this procurement impact upon our
(environmantal) objectives and policies
