INTRODUCTION
Original Article
Scientometrics is related with the study of quantitative and qualitative features and also the characteristics
of science and scientific research The Measuring and analyzing science is carried out by Scientometrics. Major
factor involves the impact of journals, scientific citations and mapping of scientific fields.
The Journal of Physics was launched by Indian Academy of Sciences in July 1973. The journal is
published in collaboration with the Indian Nation Science Academy and Indian Physics Association. Co-publishing
arrangement with Springer.
The journal is publishing the current research papers in Physics and other physics related articles. It also
publishes special issues in relation with specific areas of Physics and proceedings of the select high-quality
conferences and theme issues.
The Journal also publishes special issues devoted to (a) advances in specific areas of physics and (b)
Proceedings of select high quality conferences. Its ISSN 0304-4289 (print) and eISSN No is 0973-7111 (online)
and 12 issues per year. It is the outcome of a nationwide effort by Indian physicists to disseminate their best efforts
in Physics.
The journal has made special arrangement with Springer for distribution throughout the world. Indian
Academy of Sciences is publishing the Print subscriptions in India. The readership is spread over the country and
mostly it is institutional subscription. As per the survey carried out it is understood that the total readership of the
journal is estimated to be in the range of 40,000 to 50,000.

analyzed. The data have been calculated and represented in tables.
The Journal mainly publishes in research articles those helps to the research scholars, students done their projects
and updates their latest development in their respective subjects. This study is limited to research papers from the Pramana-
Journal of Physics for a period of One year form
Table 1, indicates that Issue-wise contributions of articles in the Pramana Journal for the year 2016. Out of 119
articles January month issue has 7 contributions (5.89%) and February to July months have 9 contributions (7.56%),
