Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from
completing this field experience?

This field experience involved understanding web design and creation to formulate a new website for our school. By working
with the district technology coordinator and website administrators from each school, I learned the role and mannerisms of a
successful coordinator in managing and working with leaders of technology from each school. I also helped coach alongside the
trainer, to my peers, for successful understanding and completion of setting up and preparing to go live at each school in the
district.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and
dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the
standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge,
skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge - This field experience required the knowledge of how to move over current content from the old website to the new.
The knowledge of new staff, updated plans, and procedures was also necessary as to not put outdated information on a new
website. Knowledge regarding how to keep a clean and consistent format for website design and creation was necessary across all
schools so that parents could find their way around various school sites in the district.

Skills - Successful communication skills with other website administrators and the district technology coordinator were necessary
in keeping a streamline presence online. It was also necessary to know computer shortcuts in order to move up to date content
over more quickly to the new site. Finally, it was extremely important to know how to navigate through the new online platform in
order to manage the site throughout the year and to assist teachers with adding content to their pages at a later date.

Dispositions - Working for long hours moving over content can be taxing, however it is important to keep a positive disposition
regarding the importance of setting up a successful and clean online presence for parents and stakeholders. Through believing that
the work being completed was important to representing Ben Hill County Schools in a positive manner and to have one site where
information can be found rather than on various social media sites, the work can be completed in an enthusiastic manner.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your
school. How can the impact be assessed?

This field experience directly correlated with school improvement in the means of communication to all stakeholders. Our former
website was very difficult to follow as the website administrators never worked together to formulate a seamless transition of
where, how, and what information was available per site. The website will also play a role in faculty development as teachers will
be involved in professional development regarding how to improve their digital presence for student success. This can come in
various formats; however, the overall goal is to have each teacher website activated and growing so that parents and stakeholders
feel more connected and aware of what is happening inside each classroom.
