Retrot Schindler Smart with ZETADYN 4C

1 General
A "Schindler Smart retrot kit" is available for converting existing systems of the "Schindler Smart"
type to frequency inverter type ZETADYN 4C.

Contents of the "Schindler Smart" retrot kit:

1x relay module type PR1-RSC3-LV-120VAC/21AU for travel direction setting (K5 ) (Article No.
00165434)
2x relays type 35.51.3 (110 VAC) for additional monitoring of the motor contactors (K-CO1 + K-
CO2) (Article No. 00165439)
Incremental counter type ET2S-1024/28/05V-15 (Article No.. 02014700)
Adapter with M16 thread for incremental counter type ET2S-1024/28/05V-15 (Article No.
01009620)

The frame size of the ZETADYN 4C must be selected dependent on the motor data of the motor in the
system.
The ZETADYN 4C has special software for lift systems of the "Schindler Smart" type.

Requirements for successful replacement

1. Voltage of the safety circuit = 110 VAC
2. The frequency inverter must be controlled by digital signals. If the existing frequency inverter is
controlled by a bus connection, it is not possible to convert to a ZETADYN 4C.
3. The system should be converted to operation with a rotary encoder. This improves the travel
comfort and stopping accuracy.

2 Electrical installation
Danger!
It is forbidden to carry out work on the frequency inverter when it is live.
Even after disconnection, the DC-link ( terminals X2: +DC / X2:-DC ) are still live.
Wait at least 3 minutes before working on the device

Danger!
It is not permitted to operate the ZETADYN 4C with the housing covers removed, as exposed live
parts are present inside the frequency inverter. Failure to observe this provision can lead to serious
injury.

Work on electric components may only be carried out by trained electricians or by persons instructed
in electricity under the supervision of an electrician in accordance with electrical engineering regula-
tions.

A second person must always be present when working on energized parts or lines who disconnects
in case of emergency.

Inspect electrical equipment periodically: retighten loose connections immediately replace damaged
lines and cables.
Always keep switch cabinets and all electrical supply facilities locked. Access is only allowed for
authorized persons using a key or special tool.

Deactivation of STO function

Since the system is still being operated with motor contactors, the monitoring of the STO function
(contactorless operation) must be deactivated.
Deactivation takes place in the Monitorings/STO=Offmenu.

Activating inspection speed

The speeds V1 and V4 will be actuated parallel.
V4 is used for inspection speed. The speed of V4 can be changed in Menu TravelingFahren/V4.

Behaviour of ZETADYN 4C:

4 Process of Deceleration
Important for an error-free deceleration and positioning of the cabin are the signals SD LZ.

Function positioning speed is reached (SD)

Output O4 with function SD will be activated depending on the parameter V_G1 (0,15m/s)
1 Only with this signal the elevator control is able to recognise the door zone.
If this signal is not available the cabin will not stop ush to the oor and an emergency stop will be
carried out.
Function door zone reached (LZ)
Input I3 with function LZ will be activated.

Although V1 is still activated, a deceleration within the distance, preset by parameter S10(50mm),
will be carried out.
3 20 ms after the motor contactors have open, output O4 with function SD will be switched off.
