University Students

Overview

Programme Description
The scholarship addresses highly qualified undergraduates, graduates and doctoral candidates either at
institutions of higher education in the Land of Baden-Wrttemberg who wish to study or research at a
partner university abroad, or at international partner institutions, who are coming to an institution of higher
education in Baden-Wrttemberg for the same purpose. The funding period ranges between 3 and 11
months. Entire degree courses (Bachelor's or Master's) or PhD programmes are, however, not eligible for
funding. The sponsorship amount is calculated individually and varies, depending also on the term
(semester) and the scholar's academic progress. It is worth between a minimum of EUR 400 per month
for students at institutions of higher education and EUR 200 for students at the Baden-Wrttemberg
Cooperative State University. The maximum grant amount is EUR 1,200 a month.

Target Group
Undergraduates, graduates and doctoral candidates from all disciplines at all institutions of higher
education in Baden-Wrttemberg who plan to study or research at an equivalent institution abroad as well
as undergraduates, graduates and doctoral candidates from international partner universities who wish to
study or research at a Baden-Wrttemberg institution of higher education

Application deadlines are set by the single institutions of higher education and are, usually, 31 March of
each year.

Beside an excellent academic record, selection criteria include the applicants' social and intercultural
skills; candidates are also selected on the basis of the principle of equal opportunity. As part of their
internationalisation strategies the single institutions of higher education have the liberty to limit their
selection to candidates from determined disciplines, i.e. for certain exchange programmes.
