Problem
How to configure NetBackup for Granular Restore Technology (GRT) backups of Exchange Server
2010 on Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2.

Solution
1. Ensure that the NetBackup Service account on the Exchange Server has been properly configured
with the correct account and security permissions. See the link for detail:
http://www.veritas.com/docs/000068163

Next, ensure that 'Services for Network File System' (NFS) is properly installed and configured for
Granular Recovery Technology. NFS must be installed on the NetBackup media server (if Windows
rather than Unix) and the NetBackup client (Exchange Server.)

2. Look for the ONC Portmapper service. If it exists, stop it and disable it. Otherwise, the installation
of NFS Services for Windows fails.

3. Install the 'Services for Network File System' (NFS) role via Server Manager.

Installing 'Services for Network File System' in Windows Server 2008 is like enabling a server role.
Doing this installs some services (e.g. Server for NFS, Client for NFS). Depending on the role of the
host in the NetBackup GRT operation, you will need to enable or disable some services installed by
enabling NFS.

4. It is important to realize that the 'Services for Network File System' is different than the 'Server
for NFS' service which is a subcomponent installed as a result. Therfore, after installing 'Services for
Network File System,' disable 'Server for NFS' service via the Microsoft services snap-in. This applies
to both Media Server and Client.

5. If the host is a dedicated Media Server, disable 'Client for NFS'(also via the services snap-in).
