Resolution
*Note: In this example, Oracle is the CMS database and the steps for other database type may vary.

This information is also outlined in the Business Intelligence Platform Administrator Guide

l BI Platform 4.0, section 9.12.3.2 To recreate a node on Unix


l BI Platform 4.1, section 10.12.3.2 To recreate a node on Unix

1. cd <INSTALLDIR>/sap_bobj/.
2. Execute source setup/env.sh.
3. Execute the following command in one line.
4. Execute <INSTALLDIR>/sap_bobj/cmsdbsetup.sh and it will display the screen below.

Current CMS Data Source: <CMS Data Source name>


Current cluster name: <Node Name>:6400
Current cluster key: <Cluster Key>

update (Update Data Source Settings)


reinitialize (Recreate the current data source)
copy (Copy data from another Data Source)
change cluster (Change current cluster name)
change cluster key (Change current cluster key)

[update(6)/reinitialize(5)/copy(4)/change cluster(3)/change cluster key(2)/back(1)/quit(0)]

5. Copy the cluster key information to a text file and type 0 and hit enter to exit the script.
6. Execute <INSTALLDIR>/sap_bobj/serverconfig.sh.
7. Type1andhitenter.

What do you want to do?

1 - Add node
2 - Delete node
3 - Modify node
4 - Move node
5 - Back up server configuration
6 - Restore server configuration
7 - Modify web tier configuration
8 - List all nodes

8. Enter the new node name and hit enter

* Node Configuration *
Enter the name of the new node.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

[<Existing Node Name>>]

9. Enter the port and hit enter.

* Node Configuration *
Enter the port of the new Server Intelligence Agent.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

10. Select 3 or 4 and hit enter.

* Node Configuration *
Select one of the following:
no servers (Add node with no servers)
cms (Add node with CMS)
default servers (Add node with default servers)
recreate (Recreate node)

[no servers(5)/cms(4)/default servers(3)/recreate(2)/back(1)/quit(0)]

11. Select existing and hit enter.

* Select a CMS *

Select a CMS that will be used to add the node.

existing
(SelectwhenatleastoneCMSisrunning.)
temporary
(SelectwhenclusterhasnorunningCMSs.AtemporaryCMSwillbeautomaticallystarted.Uponcompletion,itwillbestopped.)

12. Entertheportinformationandhitenter.

* New CMS Configuration *

Enter the port of the new CMS.


Warning: The new CMS will start using the configuration specified here.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

13. Select the database connection type and hit enter.

* New CMS Configuration *

Specify new CMS database connection information.


Select the type of database connection from the following:

[SAPHANA(8)/Oracle(7)/DB2(6)/Sybase(5)/MySQL(4)/MaxDB(3)/SQLAnywhere(2)/back(1)/quit(0)]

13. Entertnsnameandhitenter.(*Note:tnsnamemustberesolvablewithtnsping).

* New CMS Configuration *

Specify new CMS database connection information.

Enter the tnsname for connecting to your Oracle database.


[back(1)/quit(0)]

14. Enterusernameandhitenter.

* New CMS Configuration *

Specify new CMS database connection information.


Enter the user name for connecting to your Oracle database.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

15. Enter password and hit enter.

* New CMS Configuration *

Specify new CMS database connection information.


Enter the password for connecting to your Oracle database.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

16. Enter the cluster key obtained at the step 5 above.

* New CMS Configuration *

Enter the cluster key.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

17. Enternodename.(*Note:thisistypicallythesamenameastheSystemfiledonCentralManagementConsoleLogonpage).

* CMS Logon *

Enter the name of the CMS that this node will connect to.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

18. Enter port number and hit enter.


* CMS Logon *

Enter the port number for this node to use when connecting to the CMS.
Or press ENTER to use the default.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

19. Enter user name and hit enter. (*Note: Use Administrator credential).

* CMS Logon *

Enter the user name to connect to this CMS.


Note that only Enterprise authentication is supported.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

20. Enter password and hit enter.

* CMS Logon *

Enter the password to connect to this CMS.

[back(1)/quit(0)]

21. Review and if everything is correct enter yes or 3 and hit enter.

* Confirmation *

The following information will be used to create the new node.

CMS Name: <CMS Name>


Node Name: <Node Name>
Server Intelligence Agent Port: <Port>
Node Option: Create default servers
CMS Port: <Port>
CMS Data Source: <tnsname>

Results will be stored in the log file: <INSTALLDIR>/sap_bobj/logging/addnode_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.log

Do you want to create the node?

[yes(3)/no(2)/back(1)/quit(0)]

22. Hit enter when the following screen displays.

Adding node...
..........Successfully added node.
View the log file for more details: <INSTALLDIR>/sap_bobj/logging/addnode_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.log

Press Enter to continue...

23. Type 0 and hit enter to exit the script.
