The Northeast Area Jazz Ensemble
was organized and incorporated as a
non-profit organization in 1980 for
the purposes of promoting public
interest in big band jazz and to
provide local and area musicians the
oppor tunity to continue their
performance experiences. As the
popularity of the band grew, two other
purposes were included in the
organizational charterto raise funds
In 2017, NeLCM-Norfolk hopes to
to provide financial assistance to
deserving Northeast Community
College music students and to provide
monetary support, when needed, for
the colleges music department
activities and ensembles. Dr. James
Boullion organized and was the first
director of the group. Dr. Randy
Neuharth was its director from the
fall of 2001 until May 2015. Kevin
McLouth is the current director of
NAJE. 100% of NAJEs appearance fee
at Folks & Forks 2017 goes toward
NECC music scholarships.
Folks & Forks is able to be a free-
will offering event for the people who
attend the show, dessert social, and
silent auction through the generous
support of sponsors who help cover
the costs of the event. These
sponsorships also allow for 100% of
the funds raised at the event to go

 Silent Auction Items Needed
Folks & Forks is a fun afternoon because of the great
music, delicious desserts, and wide variety of silent
auction items! In 2016, 202 items were up for bids,
including many theme baskets (kids items, movie night,
Christmas cookies, Husker items, etc.) and gift
certificates & products from area businesses. In 2012,
we even had a 22-ft boat! Does your business or
organization have items to add to our silent auction in
2017? Do you have a large item (like a boat, car, a
weekend at a cabin/timeshare) youd like to donate to
really get bidders going wild? We plan to once again
offer a wide variety of items at all price points to bid on
in 2017, and would be happy to promote your business

NECC & UNMC students in Norfolk as the fall semester begins. Before we
hand them out, wed love to fill these bags with coupons, flyers, pens, or

a proud supporter of NeLCM. When you donate a financial gift or product
