Erik Erikson Psychosocial Development

Identity vs. Role Confusion

During adolescence (age 12 to 20 yrs) the transmission from childhood to adulthood is most important. Children are
becoming more independent and begin to look at the future in terms of career, relationships, families, housing etc. The
individual wants to belong to a society and fit in.

Erikson claims that the adolescent may feel uncomfortable about their body for a while until they can adapt and grow
into the changes. Success in this stage will lead to the virtue of fidelity. Fidelity involves being able to commit ones self to
others on the basis of accepting others, even when they may be ideological differences.

Czybill reach this Erikson stage of psychosocial development because during my interview with her she is consistent for
what she wants to do in life, she said that she loves nursing and it is her first choice when she enter college, she is quiet
sometimes and when I ask her she said she felt shy. She is conscious with her body because she felt she is fat but I said
it is normal in her age.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT:

Breast fully develop

Pubic hair, armpit and leg hair present
Menstruation is once a month and regular
JEAN PIAGET COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

The formal Operational Stage:

The final stage of Piagets theory involves an increase in logic, the ability to use deductive reasoning, and an
understanding of abstract ideas. At this point , people become capable of seeing multiple potential solutions to problems
and think more scientifically about the world around them.

Czybill reach this cognitive theory of Piaget Cognitive Development because she has the ability to plan
systematically especially how she do her homework and she make sure that she can meet the deadline for the
submission of her paper works., She has the ability to think about things that does not real and tangible and separating
the reality from possibility. The ability to think about multiple aspects and combining them logically to solve problems and
think about her own thinking, Czybill successfully complete all Piagets stages of cognitive development.

KOHLBERG MORAL and SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

Kohlberg Post Conventional Level of Morality

Individual judgment is based on self chosen principles, and moral reasoning is based on individual rights and justice.
According to Kohlberg this level of moral reasoning is as far as most people get. Development of an individual conscience
and a defined set of moral values. Acknowledges a conflict between two socially accepted standards and try to decide
between them. Control of conduct is now eternal. Question the existence of God and religious practices.

Czybill at this stage is still a question for her, it is not clear if she reach this stage of morality yet because she still in the
process of this this stage of moral development, but when it comes to belief, she strongly believe to God and a believe
that God will provide everything for her and her family.
