ABSTRACT
The main aim of the project is to analyse The effectiveness of Stress Management in Spiro
Solutions Pvt Ltd, Chennai. This study will help to know the factors causing stress and the
strategies that help to overcome Stress.
Descriptive research design is used for the research. Simple Random sampling technique is used
in selection of the samples from the population. The primary data was collected through the
structured questionnaire method. The population size was 320 and sample size is 120. The data
collected through questionnaires were classified, tabulated and analysed.
The analysis and interpretation were done with the help of statistical tools such as percentage
analysis, weighted average method, chi square analysis and Garrett Ranking. Suitable
suggestions and recommendations were given to improve the effectiveness of stress Management
in Spiro Solutions Pvt Ltd, which the researcher believes may be useful to the organization
INTRODUCTION:
The modern world, which is said to be a world of achievement, is also a world of stress. One
finds stress everywhere, whether it be within the family, business organization/enterprises or any
other social or economic activity. Right from the time of birth till the last breath drawn, an
individual is invariably exposed to various stressful situations. Thus, it is not surprising that

interest in the issue has been rising with the advancement of the present centaury which has been
called the age of anxiety and stress.
Stress is the subject which is hard to avoid. The term is discussed not only in our everyday
conversations but has become enough of a public issue to attract widespread media attention
whether it be radio, television, newspapers or magazines, the issue of stress figures everywhere.
Different people have different views about it as stress can be experienced from variety of
sources. Ask the opinions of five different. The business person views stress as frustration or
emotional tension; the air traffic controller sees it as a problem of alertness and concentration;
the biochemist thinks of it as a purely chemical event.
The concept of stress was first introduced in the life sciences by HANS SELYE in 1936. It is
concept borrowed from the natural sciences. Derived from Latin word SRINGERE, stress was
popularly used in seventeenth centaury to mean hardship, strain, adversity or affliction. It was
used in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to denote force, pressure, strain or strong effort
with reference to an object or person.
The term stress is used to connote a variety of meaningful both by the common man and
psychologist. Psychologist of different persuasions have given
(a) Stimulus oriented,
(b) Response oriented (both physiological & behavioural),
(c) Depth psychologist have treated the concept from the etiological and psychodynamic
viewpoints. It appears that under these circumstances the essential features of the stress
experienced have not received the attention they deserve. (Asthana, 1983)

Interpretation:
46% of respondents were satisfied in balancing Professional & Personal life, 27% are
Neither satisfied Nor Dissatisfied, 21% of employees are Highly Satisfied, 3% of employees are
showing Dissatisfied in balancing their life & 3% of employees are Highly Dissatisfied in
balancing their Professional and Personal life.

INFERENCE:
It is inferred from the above table that the respondents gave first rank preference to task
demands followed by economic situation, working condition, technological and the last rank was
given to interpersonal relationship.

Inference:
Most of employees showing their response towards performance appraisal, followed
by Training & Development, Employee Counselling, Motivation.
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS :
1. 63% of employees feeling that planning each day and working according to that plan is
not possible and only 37% are working according to the plan.
2. 46% are Satisfied, 27% are neither Neither Satisfied nor Dissatisfied, and 3% are highly
Dissatisfied in balancing their professional and personal life.
3. The majority of employees are showing that they are getting adequate support from their
superior in doing their work.
4. 79% of employees are Satisfied with superior-suboridnate relationship, 11% of
employees are Highly Satisfied, 4% of are Dissatisfied with their relationship between
Superior and subordinate.
5. 37% of employees are Neither Agree Nor Disagree, 22% are Disagree & 7% of
employees are agree that they neglected in team
6. 42% are satisfied, 37% of employees are Highly satisfied, none of them highly
Dissatisfied regarding team work and cooperation in the organization

7. 42% are Satisfied, 37% of employees are Highly satisfied 0% are Highly Dissatisfied
towards their consistent growth and knowledge in the organization.
8. 56% are Neither Satisfied Nor Dissatisfied, 20% are Highly Dissatisfied & 5% of
Satisfied, towards their overtime work.
9. 37% are Task demands, 25% are working conditions, and 4% are Inter Personal
Relationship factors causes more stress.
10. The majority of employees showing their respondents that there is no bias in evaluating
the performance.
11. 32% are showing job dissatisfaction, 32% are showing absenteeism,. 8% are Lack of
cooperation, In these way employees showing their response when there is bias in
evaluation of performance.
12. 38% of employees are Dissatisfied, 31% of employees are Neither Satisfied or Nor
Dissatisfied, 4% of employees are Satisfied, with Pay package provided in the
organization.
13. The majority of employees showing their response that no incentives are provided in the
organization when the work completed before deadline.
14. 60% are performance appraisal, 20% are none of these, 3.2% are Motivation, and
programmes over come their stress.
15. 42% of employees are flexible timings, 19% of employees none of these, 8% of
employees are Demands of Work, are strategies to overcome job stress.
16. 37% are listening Music, 33% are spending in other activities, and 4.2% are doing
Meditation, showing their respondents personally to over comes stress.
20. First rank preference to task demands followed by economic situation, working
condition, technological and the last rank was given to interpersonal relationship.
21. There is no relationship between age and strategies Job to overcome stress.
22. Most of employees showing their response towards performance appraisal, followed by
Training & Development, Employee Counselling, Motivation.

10. Working Conditions need to improve in the organization which overcomes their stress
helps in better productivity.
CONCLUSION
The study on Effectiveness of Stress management at Spiro solutions Pvt Ltd, proved that
employees are stress in their work
Though there is a good relationship exists in the organization between Superior and subordinate,
still employees are neglect in the team. Proper planning is not there in carryout their work which
makes employees stress to meet task. The study reveals that managing stress plays a vital role in
giving better performance towards organizational goal. So stress management results are
important in revamping the commitment and productivity of the employees.
