DATE: MONDAY, APRIL. 24th

ACTIVITIES: Our Clothes

ROUTINE: The students will be able to talk about what they are wearing.

Start the class at the Multimedia room and draw a suitcase on the board. Tell the class that your
suitcase is very heavy (and mime dragging heavy suitcase). Can they guess whats in it? (Clothes)
Can they guess which clothes? Ask for hands up to guess and accept any answers with a Maybe,
yes. Then, invite them to watch a video from www.elsvideos.com about What are you
wearing? Explain to them what each word means and help them with the pronunciation. Come
back to the classroom and choose up to 12 of the clothes flashcards. Tell the class In my suitcase
Ive got , show the flashcards one by one and say the name of the item. Now show the cards
one by one, say the word and learners repeat. Stick the cards on the board or display on the floor.
Ask the learners to guess which your favorite clothes are (e.g. black pants, green jacket). Ask the
children to put their hands up and to tell you their favorite clothes.

ACTIVITIES: Our Clothes

ROUTINE: The students will be able to continue learning clothes (Vocabulary).

Start the class by drilling What are your favorite clothes? like this Teacher: Listen. What are
your favorite clothes? Listen and repeat. Clothes. Class: clothes, Teacher: favorite clothes Class:
favorite clothes Teacher: your favorite clothes Class: your favorite clothes Teacher: What are your
favorite clothes? Class: What are your favorite clothes? Learners ask and answer this question in
pairs. Demonstrate the activity to the class with two stronger learners. Monitor as learners speak
but also stick flashcards around the room in preparation for the flashcard game next. Play a
flashcard game. Stick the picture cards and word 1 cards on the walls around the room. Say the
name of the item of clothing and either word or picture and the children have to run and touch
the correct card. Ask a volunteer to collect the cards when you have finished. Play the Clothes 1
word game as a class. Display the games and ask children to sit quietly. Choose volunteers to take
turns to match the clothes words and pictures correctly. Then, take them to the multimedia
room and watch/listen to a video based on present continue actions whose name is What is Mr.

ACTIVITIES: Our Clothes

ROUTINE: The students will have more practice talking about clothes.

Start the class by playing a TPR game with the students. Combine instructions, clothes, body
parts, and colors. Say, eg. Stand up if you are wearing black shoes. Jump up if you have brown hair
and so on. Ask them to listen and sing up the chant about clothes from their book on page 65 and
once they have identified the items, ask then to go to their workbooks on page 65 and do the
activity by listening to the different items for clothing and coloring them according to the
teachers instruction.
