Chenab Ltd., located in the city of Faisalabad in the province of Punjab, is part of the Chenab Group
and one of the countrys largest composite, textile companies. Faisalabad is an important commercial,
industrial, and transportation center, located in a major cotton and wheat-growing region of
northeastern Pakistan.

In 2004, GE supplied Chenab Ltd. with four natural gas-fueled Jenbacher generator sets, engine type
JGS 320 GS-N.L., to generate 4.26 MW of power. Based on its positive prior experience of the engines
performance, Chenab extended in May 2005 the power plant with three Jenbacher units. The total
number of seven Jenbacher generator sets meet the customers need for an independent, reliable
power source for textile industry operations, generating 7.45 MW of power. In addition, Chenab
utilizes the thermal energy from the engines waste heat for hot water and steam production.

Since 1999, GE has supplied more than 400 Jenbacher gas engines for projects in Pakistan, making
Pakistan the largest segment for Jenbacher products in the region. The Jenbacher gas engine project
with Chenab reflects the growing industrial trend in Africa, the Middle East and Asia of installing natural
gas fueled, on-site power plants to improve reliability and provide an affordable supply of electricity.
