As a Software Engineer at Micron Technology within the Systems and Process Engineering team, you will
configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third party applications. You will create and
analyze software specifications, research, design and document, modify, and support software
throughout the development life cycle. You must demonstrate the functional and technical skills
necessary to switch between development technologies and merge them to provide the best solution.
You will provide solutions that create business value while minimizing impact through defects,
downtime, or performance degradation. On an as needed basis, you will coordinate with the
Information Technology (IT) department to also design, develop, test, train, and implement solutions.
You will become an expert on current Backend planning processes and systems and serve as a
consultant on these processes and systems for partners and customers where you will identify,
recommend, and drive process and system improvements. An ideal candidate would also provide
leadership to the development of other team members within the organization. The leadership can be
demonstrated through the offering of training sessions, mentoring and supporting the resolution of
difficult technical problems.
Responsibilities

o Collaborate with teams to determine the best solution(s)

o Analyze cost vs. benefit factors

o Maintain communication with leadership teams and stakeholders
o Align to team best practices and Software Development Processes
o Participate in unit and integration testing
o Support user acceptance testing
o Follow established version control and deployment practices
o Create and maintain support documentation
Qualifications
o Proficiency in more than one programming language and the proven ability and desire
to learn more (C#, Java, perl, ASPX, C, C++)
o Familiarity with both client/server and web-based development tools and technologies
o Familiarity and knowledge of relational databases (MS SQLServer, Oracle) and SQL
commands
o Effective written and oral communication skills
o High level of self-motivation
o Ability to manage several concurrent projects or tasks
o Willingness to learn new tools and technologies to support Microns changing
environment
Additional Qualifications Considered
o Knowledge of semiconductor process/manufacturing
o Comfortable with an Agile development process
o Interest in Operations Research
o An understanding of capacity planning
o An understanding large scale optimization techniques
o Familiarity with Microns SAP master data architecture
o Familiarity with at least one of Microns manufacturing execution systems (MAM, MES
Tracking, E2Open)
o Comfort with an Agile development process
o Knowledge of SAP APO suite of products
o Knowledge of manufacturing capacity models (either PDM or CSM)
o Knowledge of LPI architecture
o Demonstrated knowledge of backend semi-conductor manufacturing
o Knowledge of MIPS libraries such as CPLEX, COIN, or LP Solve
o NoSQL/GraphDB experience
o Familiar with big data processing and/or developing applications and data sources via
Hadoop/MapReduce, Hive, MongoDB, Neo4J/Titan, MapReduce, HBASE/Cassandra, etc.
leveraging tools such as Yarn, Pig, Spark, etc.
o Scripting in Perl, Python, or shell
o Knowledge of data structures of software systems such as ERP systems and
manufacturing planning and execution system
Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field of study. Equivalent
experience will also be considered.
