3.0. Course Description


This one-semester curse is designed to help students understand the significant contribution of human resources to the
function of the social agency and the options to an administrator in designing a human resources to the function of the
social agency and the options open to an administrator in designing a human resource strategy that will optimize the
motivation and creativity of the organizations personnel and the organizations outcomes. The legal environment is
reviewed as a context in which this aspect of administrative practice takes place. Basic to this course are the theories of
leadership, supervision, and creating a learning culture.

This course is concerned with fundamental aspects of social administration,i.e., the strategies, policies, programs, and
practices surrounding the management of human resources within a social agency setting. In the social agency, where
service is the product, machines and materials are minor input, elevating the administration and development of human
resources to greatest significance. The management of human resources is a strategic function in any organizations can
be distinguished by the effectiveness with which they plan and manage the contribution of their personnel.

This is a course that covers an overview of the basic statistical concepts and methods of descriptive and inferential
statistics and their use in the design, analysis and interpretation of research, case study and thesis writing.

4.0 Intended Learning Outcome of the Course

At the end of the term, the students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate skills in organizing, summarizing and interpreting data in terms of measures of central tendency and
dispersion.
2. Exhibit adeptness in applying the concepts in inferential statistics.

hypothesis. Applications of concepts on case studies are also tackled, as well as the use of applicable computer software.
