Article 22, Section B:

Criteria 1: Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and/or perform effectively in other


current assignments.
Specific Objectives:
1. Collect student feedback on course texts, content, and teaching performance throughout
course delivery and at the end of the term.
2. Incorporate AVID strategies into classes for educational leadership.
3. Deliver online instruction through D2L.

Methods of Assessment:
1. Analyze student feedback/assessments and adjust syllabi/course delivery accordingly
using MSU Institutional Assessment forms.
2. Document the use of AVID strategies.
3. Document D2L assignments.

Expected Achievement

Criteria 2: Scholarly or creative achievement or research.


Specific Objectives:
1. Submit proposal for an article for publication in a refereed journal.
2. Submit proposal for presentation at a national conference in the area of educational
leadership and equity.
3. Participate in the Intercultural Research Group (IRG) on MSU Campus.

Methods of Assessment:
1. Completion of article and submission to a refereed journal.
2. Documentation of attendance or presentation.
3. Document IRG attendance and presentation.

Expected Achievement:
1. Submitted qualitative research article to a refereed journal in the field of educational
leadership and to receive reviewer comments.
2. Completed proposal to present research at a national conference.
3. Share my research on contextual pedagogy and critical race theory.

Criteria 3: Evidence of continuing preparation and study.


Specific Objectives:

1
1. Take classes toward requirements for the Minnesota K-12 Specialist/Administrative
License.
2. Attend available workshops and/or conferences that will increase knowledge and skills in
the area of teaching, scholarship, and leadership.
3. Attend AVID training.

Methods of Assessment:
1. Documentation of program coursework including portfolio review.
2. Document the knowledge and skills gained from workshops and/or conferences.
3. Documentation of AVID training and new skills learned.

Expected Achievement:
1. Fulfill requirements for the MN K-12 Administration Specialist License.
2. Incorporate knowledge and skills from workshops and conferences into teaching,
research, and leadership.
3. Knowledge of core AVID strategies and application to school leadership.

Criteria 4: Contribution to student growth and development.


Specific Objectives:
1. Advise students in the Educational Leadership Program.
2. Offer help sessions to international students in the Educational Leadership Program to
assist in the development of their English writing skills.
3. Guide the research inquiries of advisees.

Methods of Assessment:
1. Log meetings and communications with advisees.
2. Feedback from students, and assessment of international student papers.
3. Log meetings and communications about research projects with advisees.

Expected Achievement:
1. Provide students with the information and assistance to help them meet the requirements
necessary to complete coursework.
2. Completed papers of international students that reflect growth in their English writing
skills.
3. Document completion of research projects by advisees.

Criteria 5: Service to the university and community.


Specific Objectives:
1. Serve on search committees in the Department of Educational Leadership.
2. Serve on Undergraduate Admission Appeals Committee (UAAC).
3. Serve as a guest lecturer for colleagues on campus.

Methods of Assessment:
1. Document committee meetings and other assigned tasks.
2. Selection to serve on the UAAC and documentation of meetings and other assigned tasks.
3. Note dates and presentations to classes as a guest speaker.

Expected Achievement:
1. Complete the search process for a new faculty candidate in the Department of
Educational Leadership.
2. Contribute to the goals and needs of the UAAC and serve the needs of potential students
admitted to MSU, as well as determine why others are denied.
3. Contributing to the learning experiences of student and colleagues classes.
