I.

OBJECTIVES

A. General Objectives
After 10 minutes of discussion, we will be able to:
Evaluate the knowledge of the mothers about the nutrition
Educate the mothers the mothers the possible ways on how to use their
resources to access a variety of safe and good quality food for nutritional
supplementation.
Promote the optimal use of local foods and practice healthy eating
patterns.

B. Specific Objectives
After 10 minutes the facilitators will be able to assess the knowledge of
mothers regarding nutrition through health and education.
Evaluate the skills and motivation of the mothers to make wise dietary
and lifestyle choices.
Promote consumption of local foods for healthy lifestyle to combat
under nutrition or nutritional deficiencies.
The participants are motivated to participate all throughout the activity.

II. Purpose
This helps improve health literacy by teaching mothers about the mothers diet
and healthy eating choices. A healthy balanced diet for mothers provides vitamin
and mineral supplementation that is needed for the growth and development of the
baby. It is to ensure that the right nutrition that they need is what is important for
their system by eating a wide variety of nutritious foods.

III. TARGET PARTICIPANTS


The participants will all be selected among the mothers and significant others in
the Obstetric Ward.

IV. MATERIALS NEEDED


Visual aids
Pamphlets

V. METHODS OR PROCEDURE
Established rapport among the patient.
Ask for the patients participation in information education lesson
Introduce lessons through verbal approach and visual aids.
Evaluation of what the patient and s/o have gain in the lecture.

VI. TIME FRAME: 10 minutes


VII. EVALUATION METHOD
The facilitator will instruct the participants to express their comments and
feelings.
Questions:
1. What does the client usually eat in order to gain nutrients?
2. What are the local foods rich in nutrients does the client eat?
3. What are the clients beliefs regarding her nutritional intake?
4. What are the clients concerns or problems regarding her nutritional
intake?
