News Staff Corner:
First of all we must apologize for the lateness of the July newsletter. The newsletter staff has been involved in multiple
committees and functions therefore the delivery of the July newsletter suffered. Granted July was an unusually busy month
with club and community activities so hopefully well be back on schedule from this point on. We appreciate those members
who follow the monthly newsletter religiously and would like to remind all members that a digital copy of the monthly
newsletter is available online at our clubs website www.lebanon-americanclubofdanbury.com .
We are in the vacation season for many of our members so dont forget to send us a note or two describing your trips, travel,
vacation locations, or whatever you think might be of interest to any fellow member. We also would like to hear of family
weddings, births, reunions, etc. remember this newsletter is a great way to stay connected with family and friends (who needs
Facebook? Just kidding!!). We also welcome comments, critiques, praises, or whatever concerning your monthly newsletter.
You can email your thought to lebanonclub@att.net or send a note by mail to LAC, 22 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810
Thoughts to Live By:
The past is our only real possession in life. It is the one piece of property of which time cannot deprive us; it is our own in a
way that nothing else in life is. In a word, we are our past; we do not cling to it, it clings to us. Grace King, American author
(1852-1932).
It isnt what we say or think that defines us, but what we do. From Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin (1775-1817).
A Little Humor:
Im sure the universe is full of intelligent life. Its just been too intelligent to come here. Sir Arthur C. Clarke, British
science-fiction author (1917-2008).
Three oclock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do. Jean-Paul Sartre, French philosopher (1905-
1980).
Member News:
Be sure to check the calendar and events schedule for times and dates of all activities of your LAC.
A quick update on attendance at Pasta night in July which had well over twenty members and guests enjoying spaghetti and
meatballs a most enjoyable night for all attending, Dont miss out on an enjoyable evening having pasta with friends and/or
family. You have got to try attending to see for yourself. Due to several club and community events, the Pasta Dinner in
August has been cancelled and will resume in September.
