TheclosedradiatorgrilleandtheprecisecontoursofthehoodlendthefrontofthenewBMW7Series
asportycharacteratfirstglance.Theelegantlinesofthesideviewareemphasizedbythedistinctive
doublecreaseandthehighlightedHofmeisterkink.ThechrometrimstripsattherearandtheLshape
oftherearlightsroundoffthestrikingandconfidentappearanceofthenewBMW7Series.
TheluxuriousinteriorofthenewBMW7Seriesischaracterizedbythequalitycraftsmanshipata
supremelevel,precisesurfacesandacompletelynewfeelingofspaciousness.Thisiscomplemented
bytechnicalhighlightssuchasAmbientlightandBMWTouchCommand.Butitistheseatingcomfort
inparticularthatsetsnewstandardsinthisvehicleclass.
Aparticulartechnicalhighlightofthebodyisthebodystructurewithcarbonreinforcements.Thisis
basedontechnologytransferfromdevelopmentoftheBMWivehicles.Useofcarbonwithitsspecific
materialpropertiesincreasestorsionalrigidityandstrength.Theweightisreducedatthesametime.

TheE23isthefirstBMW7Seriesandwasproducedfrom1977to1986.
ThepassengercellhasadynamicappearanceduetothepronouncedslopeoftheA-pillarandsmooth
rooflinetransitiontotherear.ThislendstheE23asportyyetelegantlook.
Intheinterior,theinstrumentpanelisturnedtowardsthedriver,makingtheoperatingelementseasier
toreach.Thisergonomicallyoptimumdriverorientationhasbecomeadesignfeaturethatistypicalfor
BMW.
TheE23wasinitiallyproducedintheworksinMunichandDingolfing.AsfromDecember1982,
theE23rolledofftheassemblylineonlyinDingolfing,likeallsubsequentBMW7seriesmodels.

TheE32wasproducedfrom1986to1994.
Theharmoniouscontoursandflowingtransitionsatthefront,sideandrearprovidetheE32witha
particularlyelegantlook.Thehorizontallywiderradiatorgrillreinforcesthepresenceofthefrontend.
TheL-shapedrearlightsformthebasisofanimportantBMWdesignelement.
TheE32wasalsothefirstBMW7Seriestobeofferedasalongversionwitha11.4cm/4.5inch
longerbody.

Thankstoitselegantlines,the3rdgenerationoftheBMW7Serieshasamoreelegantandelongated

BMWopenedupacompletelynewdesignerawiththeE65.ThefrontendpreservesthetypicalBMW
radiatorgrilleandtwincircularheadlights.Thefrontheadlightsextendelegantlyintothesidecontours.
Thesidecontourexudescalmandelegancethankstothesinglecontinuouslineextendingfromthe
frontthroughtothecompleterearend.TherooflinehasaCoup-likeform.
ThegreatestrevolutioninthevehicleinterioristheiDriveoperatingsystem.Thissystemmadeit
possibletodispensewithalargenumberofbuttons,makingthedrivingareaappearmuchtidier
andclearer.
TheE66isthelongversionoftheE65andwasthereforegivenitsowndevelopmentcode
forthefirsttime.

TheF01/F02wasproducedfrom2008to2015(LCI:from2012).
The5thgenerationoftheBMW7Seriescreatesanevenstrongerpresencethroughitslargeairinlets
andlonghood.Atthesides,thebalancedproportionsareelegantlyextendedbylongitudinallinesand
surfaces.Thewidthoftherearareaisemphasizedtoconveythevehicle'ssportingcharacter.
