parts of speech to students. Grammaropolis includes both a website version and app version.
The app version incorporates original songs, videos, books and quizzes on the eight parts of
speech. All of the content is aimed at making grammar fun for kids. The content is fun and
attractive that will keep the attention of both elementary and middle school age kids.
Rationale for Curriculum Use: Google Read and Write allows students to
utilize technology without the limitations for individuals who may struggle with reading or writing.
The app allows for speech to text and text to audio for almost all websites. The app is installed
as a plug in for your web browser and then becomes and an unlimited tool for research, learning
and more.
Rationale for Curriculum Use: News-O-matic is an interactive newspaper for kids. Each day
there are 5 news stories posted on the app for kids to explore. The stories are written by experts
and reviewed by a child psychologist before being uploaded. Features of the app include
stories, puzzles, word games and audio. The app includes a Read to Me feature that may help
students who are struggling to read at grade level or who may prefer to listen to the audio. Kids
can also explore how far away the news items are by using distance trackers, allowing the
students to become more invested in the news stories.
Rationale for Curriculum Use: Jungle time is a fun and interactive app that allows kids to
practice telling time. The app had 5 different difficulty levels so its users can continue to be
challenged by the material. The games within the application will help to improve kids number
sense by counting two digit numbers and skip counting by fives. The app also is equipped with a
learning clock style for children who are struggling to read.

imaginative characters that explore historic events, inventions as well as different places around
the world. The app teaches kids about geography, other cultures and history. The app allows
you to read to yourself or use the read to me option.

Piven. The app is a tool for creating collages using pictures of everyday objects. It helps to
expand a user's visual awareness and visual associations and develop the use of their right
brain. The app includes lesson on creativity by Hanoch Piven, a gallery of inspirational images
and a music player that is able to play while you are creating.
