"By the time", "on time", "in time"

En ingls se utilizan estas tres expresiones temporales con

matices ligeramente diferentes.

"By the time" significa no ms tarde de la hora sealada, sobre

la hora indicada, alrededor de la hora:

You have to be here by 6 Tienes que estar aqu no ms tarde de las 6 en

o'clock. punto
The train will arrive by El tren llegar sobre las 10.30
10K30.

"On time" significa exactamente a la hora sealada, ni antes, ni

despus:

The match begins at El partido empieza a las 4.30. Yo estar all

4K30. I will be there on puntual (llegar a las 4.30, ni antes, ni despus)
time.

The bus leaves at 3. I El autobs sale a las 3.00. Yo estar all puntual
will be there on time. (justo a las 3.00)

"In time" significa con tiempo suficiente:

The match begins at El partido empieza a las 4.30. Yo estar all con
4K30. I will be there in tiempo (llegar antes de las 4.30)
time.

The bus leaves at 3. I El autobs sale a las 3.00. Yo estar all con
will be there in time. tiempo (antes de las 3.00)
