ATC 001-1 Overview

This document will cover Battlefield 1 XB1/PS4/PC Brigades Advanced Training Course
(ATC) Number 001, which relates to proficiency testing in the following areas:

Squad Movements (MOUT & RTFA) - This section is an introduction to squad based
tactics, and will cover movement techniques used inside the Battlefield 1
XB1/PS4/PC. Testing and evaluation during this Tactical Warfare, Battlefield 1
XB1/PS4/PC brigade, Advanced Training Course will score you on your knowledge
and proficiency when utilizing these tactics.

ATC 001-2 Available Badges, Minimum Requirements and Grades

Both the MOUT and RTFA are sectioned in to two parts. Both parts are worth 50 points for a total of 100
points. The minimum score required in order to pass is 75 points out of 100. Should a participant pass they
will receive either of the below badges in accordance to the course they completed.

The Military Operations on Urban Terrain Badge denotes proficiency and certification in Tactical Warfares official
adaptation of United States Marine Corps MOUT Tactics.

Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) training must be administered to the member by qualified MOUT
personnel in order for the certification to be official.

MOUT tactics consist of the formation, movement, discipline, dispersion, and security of a small but effective Fire Team
in an urban environment.

Qualification ensures members recognize the various formations in MOUT, how to adapt from one formation to another
seamlessly, their role within the Fire Team, and how to clear urban areas, such as buildings, warehouses, and other urban
structures, of enemy forces.

The Ready-Team-Fire-Assist Badge denotes proficiency and certification in Tactical Warfares official adaptation of
United States Marine Corps Fire Team Tactics.

Ready-Team-Fire-Assist (RTFA) training must be administered to the member by qualified RTFA personnel in order for
the certification to be official.

RTFA tactics consist of the formation, movement, discipline, dispersion, and security of a small but effective Fire Team.

Qualification ensures members recognize the various formations in RTFA, how to adapt from one formation to another
seamlessly, their role within the Fire Team, and how to deal with contact with the enemy, or the possibility of threat of
contact with the enemy.

ATC 001-3 MOUT Testing

PHASE ONE: Maximum 50 Points

Phase one consists of the MOUT written test, which is comprised of the following questions.

Military Operations on Urban Terrain Quiz

1. What does MOUT stand for?

2. What does CQB stand for?

3. Who can modify the application of MOUT?

4. What types of entry methods are there?

5. What is the fatal funnel?

6. If the number 2 man goes right in a room, what does the number 3 man do?

7. When should you clear a room with two members?

8. What is the single most important thing to remember when clearing a room?

9. What is the number 4 mans duty upon completion of a room clearance?

10. Should you use grenades when entering into a room?

PHASE TWO: Maximum 50 Points

Description: Eliminate stationary/moving targets

Map: Sinai Desert

Spawn: On Instructor (Blue Circle)

Shooters Position: Water Tower

Weapon Category: MOUT

Weapon: All weapons

Weapon Restrictions: Flare Gun (Scout), Gas Grenade (All), Incendiary Grenade (All),
Smoke Grenade (All), Mortars (All), Limpet Charges (Support), AT Rocket Gun (Assault),
AT Grenade (Assault), Light AT Grenade (All)

# Ammo Rounds: Unlimited

# of Targets: Number of targets during this test (8 targets)

Time Limit: 15 Minutes

Target 1 Location: Unknown (Location chosen by target)

Target 2 Location: Unknown (Location chosen by target)

Target 3 Location: Unknown (Location chosen by target)

Target 4 Location: Unknown (Location chosen by target)

Target 5 Location: Unknown (Location chosen by target)

Instructions:
Shooters, you will spawn on the instructor and proceed to the Water Tower. Once your time
begins you will proceed in to the village and clear each building to find each of the eight targets
and eliminate them. If you eliminate all of the targets before clearing the village then you
complete the objective and your time will end. You can choose to end at any point, however you
will lose points for every target you have not eliminated.

Your boundaries are the village. There are two buildings past a sandbag wall on the Western side
of the village. These buildings are out of bound and are not apart of this course. You can revive
each member that dies, but you will lose a point for every revive. If a member dies without being
revived you will lose 3 points. If all of you die, you will need to re-spawn on the instructor. You
have 15 minutes to kill all targets, you will lose 5 points every minute you exceed the time limit.
You will also lose 10 points for every use of an unapproved weapon. If you have no further
questions then your time shall begin upon my mark.

ATC instructor will record time elapsed for scoring purposes. Once again, your time will begin
on my mark and it will end upon elimination of all targets in addition to capturing all objectives.

Scoring: Shooter starts with 50pts. Points will be deducted for exceeding time limit,
exceeding amount of rounds per target, failing to kill a target, or using an improper weapon.

Penalty Deduction: The following are Point deductions:


1. Time Exceeded = -5 points per every minute
2. Revive = -1 point
3. Death without revive = -3 points
4. Use of unapproved weapon = -10 points
5. Each target left alive = -10 points

Speech to Shooter: At this time I will ask you a series of questions to verify that you
understand the rules of this test.
- Q: Do you understand target locations and where to fire from?
- A: Yes - Continue No - Re-teach Locations and Shooter positions.
- Q: Do you understand eliminating targets is the only way to count target as a kill?
- A: Yes - Continue No - Re-teach Scoring
- Q: Do you understand that you have 15 minutes to complete this event and for every
second exceeded you will lose two points?
- A: Yes - Continue No - Re-teach task as needed

Once the targets have confirmed they are ready and once your team is ready, your time will
begin upon the instructors mark and will end once all targets have been eliminated or all
available points have been lost.

Instructions: Upon spawning in to the game the ATC instructor will conduct a walkthrough of the
course and how it will be run as well as the locations of the targets (If Applicable). Once this is done
the team that is running the course will proceed to the start location. Once the team has confirmed
that they understand all the above questions they will start the course upon the instructors mark.

ATC 001-4 RTFA Testing

PHASE ONE: Maximum 50 Points

Phase one of the RTFA consists a written test, which is comprised of the following questions.

Ready Team Fire Assist Quiz

1. When is leapfrogging and/or bounding used during RTFA?

2. What does the Assistant Automatic Weapon member do during the wedge formation?

3. What does the Fire Team Leaders duties and responsibilities?

4. How many different formations are there?

5. What is an advantage to the fire team wedge formation?

6. Fire Team Column is used for what type of movements?

7. During the staggered formation, where is your vulnerable points?

8. During bounding or leapfrogging what is the key to success?

9. What position in a four man team is the point man for the fire team?

10. What is the one common thing to remember when using all the various formations?

PHASE TWO: Maximum 50 Points

Description: Moving targets

Map: Suez

Spawn: Ottoman Spawn

Shooter Position: Echo Objective

Weapon Category: RTFA

Weapon: All weapons allowed

# Ammo Rounds: Unlimited

# of Targets: Number of targets during this test (8 targets)

Time Limit: 15 Minutes

Target 1 Location: Bravo Flag

Target 2 Location: Bravo Flag

Target 3 Location: Bravo Flag

Target 4 Location: Bravo Flag

Target 5 Location: Delta Flag

Target 6 Location: Delta Flag

Target 7 Location: Delta Flag

Target 8 Location: Delta Flag

Instructions:
Shooters, upon spawning you will proceed to Echo and capture the objective. Your objective is
to proceed to Delta, eliminate all targets and capture the flag. Once Delta is captured you will
then proceed to Bravo objective. You do not need to eliminate all targets to capture the objective.
Once the flag is captured you can immediately move to the next one.

You can revive each member that dies, but you will lose a point for every revive. If a member
dies without being revived you will lose 3 points. If all of you die you will need to re-spawn at
Echo and try again. You have 15 minutes to capture both objectives, and for every minute you
exceed the time limit you will lose 5 points. If you have no further questions then your time shall
begin upon my mark.

ATC instructor will record time elapsed and rounds fired for scoring purposes. Once again, your
time will begin on my mark and it will end upon elimination of all targets in addition to capturing
all objectives.
