II. Online Fingering Chart Assignment- Due Tuesday, August 23rd.
a. Using the fingering chart in your textbook as a guide, complete 100 correct responses on the online Brass
Trainer. The program uses a four-valve system. This will mean that all notes usually played 1 & 3 on a 3-
valved instrument would be played with just the 4th valve. Notes that are usually played 1,2&3 on a 3-
valved instrument would be played 2 & 4.
To locate the Brass Trainer go to www.DrCRJackson.com , then click PRACTICE ASSISTANT
located on the left side of the screen. To access the Brass Trainer, click on BRASS
FINGERINGS/POSITIONS TRAINING GAMES. Once on the Brass Trainer, click SET
INSTRUMENT and click on the icon for EUPHONIUM. Then, click SET RANGE to select
INTERMEDIATE. Click on the boxes for Allow Flats and Allow Sharps to toggle those boxes
to a solid black color. Finally, click SET RANGE one last time to start the drill. Once you have
reached 100 correct responses (NOT 100 percent), then print your complete screen. Sign your
name at the top of your printout and include the date completed before turning it in on Tuesday,
August 23rd. Your screen shot will look similar to the sample below:
