BASKETBALL TOURNAME]
The school basketball team participated in the 5th
edition of the Inter- Jesuit Basketball tournament
hosted by St. Xavier's Doranda, Ranchi. The school
team entered the semi-finals by beating St. Xavier's
Chaibasa by 53-20 and St. Xavier's Inter College
Ranchi by 58 - 31. The semi- final was played and
won against St. Lawrence, Kolkata. In the grand
finale, the competition was against Loyola School,
Jamshedpur. However the school team fell short of
completing what could have been an amazing
comeback. Nevertheless the team was cheered by the
crowd for their style of playing.
The school organized a health week programme
right from classes 4th to 10thstandards.for
generating awareness regarding different health
issues from 24th to 29th April. A lot of enthusiasm
was observed among the students to present the
most informative and attractive bulletin board.
Health week assemblies were conducted by the
ferent classes to introduce the topics through
skits, speeches and parody songs. Emphasis was
laid on the importance of discipline and hygiene for
ahealthy living. The week longlearning experience
for the children concluded with the presentation of
the bulletin boards on Saturday, 29th April,

Mr, Faiz Khan, representing Quality Education
Asia, interacted with the students of Std. 10th and
conducted an orientation programme to talk about
the goal of I smart classes. The emphasis was on
enhancing the life skills of students and enabling
them to combat life's challenges and develop
interpersonal relationships. Mr. Faiz aimed at
helping students explore their own strength,
communication skills, self motivation, decision
making, emotional quotient and critical thinking
through a very interactive session

777dOn 12th May 2017, the school bid farewell to one of
its beloved teachers, Mrs. Deepanjali Bose who had
devoted 28 long years of service to this institution
moulding tiny tots with deep affection into
compassionate, competent and committed humans
for tomorrow, The farewell programme was marked
by the nostalgic emotions of all the students whilst
bidding good-bye toa teacher who had played one of
the most significant roles in their lives. Mrs, Sunita
Prasad putting it aptly in her speech pointed out that '
retiring is actually re-trying a new life.’ In this bitter
sweet moment Fr. Rosner acknowledged Mrs.
Deepanjali’s invaluable service towards the school
and wished her luck for her new innings, Mrs. Bose, in
her parting speech, expressed her deep desire to
serve the society by putting her soul into charity work.
The day concluded with a private staff farewell
The board results this year was indeed very good,
especially in the case of class 12th . Of the total number
of 149 students, who appeared for the 10thBoard
Exam, 44 scored 10 CGPA; an improvement from last
vyearwhen 38 studentshad got 10 CGPA. In the case of
class12th Board Results, of the 214 students who

appeared for it, 11 of the science stream , 10 of the
Commerce stream, and 2 of the arts stream scored 90%
and above and were felicitated by the D. C. Mr. Ravi
Shankar Shukla on the 23rd of June . Nikhil Jyoti
(Science stream) and Ishan Bhandari (Commerce)
topped with 95% and 96% respectively. What came as
a feather in the cap was Anand Kumar becoming the
state Topperin Arts with 96.2%.
The annual staff seminar was held between the
15thto 17th of June 2017,which was preceded by
an orientation programme for the new staff
members which was oriented by the principal
himself. The resource person on the 16th was Mr.
Tejwant Singh Garewal. The focus area was to
help teachers improve upon their Classroom
Management Skills. 17th of June was utilized by
the teachers in planning for the classes that was to
reopen on 19thJune.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
The International Yoga Day was observed on the
21st of June. Members of the Yoga club and the
staff of the school assembled in the Auditorium
basement at Zam. The session was conducted
under guided supervision.Neo d
The Gonzaga Day was celebrated on the 24th of
June with a small cultural programme which
started with the lighting of the lamp and the
garlanding of the portrait of St. Aloysius Gonzaga.
Fr. Rosner in his address to the students urged them
to care for the uncared, work for humanity and
stand for social cause.
While the bridge course for class 11 students
started on the 29th of April, admission procedures
for fresh applicants started on the 12th of June with
the conducting of aptitude tests. The new session
began on the 2ist of June with the admission of
approximately 210 students. What cannot go
without mentioning is the significant increase in the
number of admission in the arts and commerce
