DESCRIPTIVE

The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three epic fantasy adventure films directed by
Peter Jackson. They are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large
portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King , which expand on
the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the
films. The films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013),
and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).
The screenplay was written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Jackson, and Guillermo del
Toro, who was originally chosen to direct before his departure from the project. The films take
place in the fictional world of Middle-earth sixty years before the beginning of The Lord of the
Rings, and follow hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), who is convinced by the wizard
Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) to accompany thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield
(Richard Armitage), on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug
(Benedict Cumberbatch). The films also expand upon certain elements from the novel and other
source material, such as Gandalf's investigation at Dol Guldur, and the pursuit of Azog and Bolg,
who seek vengeance against Thorin and his ancestors.
The first film in the series premiered at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New
Zealand on 28 November 2012. One hundred thousand people lined the red carpet on
Courtenay Place, and the entire event was broadcast live on television in New Zealand and
streamed over the Internet. The second film of the series premiered at the Dolby Theatre in Los
Angeles, California on 2 December 2013. The third and final film premiered at Leicester Square
in London on 1 December 2014.

The Giraffes

Giraffes are truly giant animals. They amaze me. I like giraffes because their long neck. They can
grow up to 17 feet tall and weigh as much as 3,000 pounds. The male giraffes, called bulls, are
typically larger than the females, called cows. The babies arent exactly small either. A baby
giraffe, called a calf, is 6 feet tall at birth! Giraffes also have large hearts. Their hearts can be up
to 2 feet long and weigh over 20 pounds. They need these large hearts to pump blood all the way
up their long necks.

It is always fun to watch giraffes eat from the tree. Their favorite types of leaves are from the
acacia tree. Giraffes are herbivores, meaning they eat plants rather than meat. They use their long
necks and tongues (which they can stick out up to a foot and a half!) to get to leaves on trees. A
typical full-grown adult giraffe will eat over 70 pounds of leaves, twigs, and fruit each day.
Giraffes dont need to drink water very often because there is so much water in the leaves they
eat. However, when they do drink water, they can drink several gallons at a time. I think this is
not good because a giraffe has to bend down and get into a vulnerable position when drinking.
Not a good idea when there are lions sneaking around!

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. It was built by a Muslim
Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife at Agra.

Taj Mahal is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal. The
mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main gateway, an elaborate
garden, a mosque (to the left), a guest house (to the right), and several other palatial
buildings. The Taj is at the farthest end of this complex, with the river Jamuna behind it.
The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners
truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the interlocking
arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and perfectly integrates
with the main structure. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and a
symmetry of architectural elements.

Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height of 213 feet. It is
flanked by four subsidiary domed chambers. The four graceful, slender minarets are
162.5 feet each. The central domed chamber and four adjoining chambers include
many walls and panels of Islamic decoration.

Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond
adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light
of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended
when viewed from across the Jamuna river.

Panda

Have you ever wathc the cartoon movie "Kung fu Panda"? But the Panda that would be
described below is not the Panda who can do Kung fu like in that movie. Pada is the
icon of the Chinese country becasue its unik. Here are the desciption about Panda.

Giant pandas are bear-like in shape with striking black and white markings. The "Giant"
Pandas are hardly "Giants". It would take about forty (40) giant pandas to weigh as
much as one elephant. Adult giant pandas have a length of 160 to 180 centimeters (5
1/4 to 6 feet). The weight of an adult male giant panda is normally between 80 and 125
kilograms (176 and 276 pounds) with males typically weighing about 10% to 20% more
than females -- about the same size as theAmerican black bear. However, unlike the
black bear, giant pandas do not hibernate and cannot walk on their hind legs.Giant
panda bears have a massive head, heavy body, short tail (approximately 5 inches),
rounded ears and plantigrade feet (i.e., both heel and toe make contact with the ground
when walking in a manner similar to humans). The throat of the giant panda has an
esophagus with a tough, horny lining to protect the bear from injury by bamboo
splinters. The stomach is similarly protected with its thick muscular wall linings.Giant
pandas have forepaws which are extremely flexible. They have an enlarged wrist bone
(the radial sesamoid) that works in the manner of an opposable thumb. This highly
functional thumb allows the panda to manipulate bamboo stems and leaves, with
dexterity and precision. The hind feet of the giant panda lacks the heel pad found in the
other seven bear species.

The basic fur color of the giant panda is white with black eye patches, ears, legs, feet,
chest, and shoulders. White areas are different shades of white from pure white to
orangish or a light brown. Within its natural environment (the deep forest and, at upper
elevations, snow androck), its mottled coloringprovides camouflage. There is also
speculation that its striking color pattern may be a clear message to other pandas to
stay away since the giant panda is an extremely solitary animal. The fur of the giant
panda is thick and coarse. It consists of a coarse outer layer and a very dense, wooly-
like underfur. To the touch, the fur feels oily. This oily protective coating helps protects
pandas from the cool and damp climate in which the bear lives.

Giant pandas generally move in a slow, determined manner. When startled, they will
move at a slow trot to escape danger. Giant pandas, with their sharp claws, are capable
of climbing trees very easily. Giant panda cubs are born weighing 3 to 5 ounces or
about 4-5 grams each (1/900th of the mother's weight) The cubs are born blind and
hairless. At about 10 days the skin where the black hair will eventually grow turns gray.

4. The White Rhinoceros (Rhino)

The rhinoceros is a large, primitive looking mammal that in fact dates from the Miocene
era millions of years ago. In recent decades rhinos have been relentlessly hunted to the
point of near extinction. Since 1970 the world rhino population has declined by 90
percent, with five species remaining in the world today, all of which are endangered.

The white or square-lipped rhino is one of two rhino species in Africa. It in turn occurs as
two subspecies, the southern and the northern. The southern dwindled almost to
extinction in the early 20th century, but was protected on farms and reserves, enabling it
to increase enough to be reintroduced. The northern white rhino has recovered in
Democratic Republic of Congo from about 15 in 1984 to about 30 in the late 1990s. This
population has been threatened by political conflict and instability.

There are two kinds of rhino who live in Africa, first is Black Rhinoceros ( Diceros
bicornis) and second is White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum). The white rhino's
name derives from the Dutch "weit," meaning wide, a reference to its wide, square
muzzle adapted for grazing. The white rhino, which is actually grey, has a pronounced
hump on the neck and a long face. While the black, or hooked-lipped rhino, along with
all other rhino species, is an odd-toed ungulate (three toes on each foot). It has a thick,
hairless, grey hide. Both the black and white rhino have two horns, the longer of which
sits at the front of the nose.

Rhino includes the bigest land mamals who live in africa besides elephant and other
mamals. Rhino can live up to 35 to 40 years. The size of the rhinoceros stands about 60
inches at the shoulder. And the weight of Black Rhino is 1 to 1 tons, while White Rhino
is over 2 tons.

Diet description of The black rhino is a browser, with a triangular-shaped upper lip
ending in a mobile grasping point. It eats a large variety of vegetation, including leaves,
buds and shoots of plants, bushes and trees. While the white rhino is a grazer feeding
on grasses.

Rhinos live in home ranges that sometimes overlap with each other. Feeding grounds,
water holes and wallows may be shared. The black rhino is usually solitary. The white
rhino tends to be much more gregarious. Rhinos are also rather ill-tempered and have
become more so in areas where they have been constantly disturbed. While their
eyesight is poor, which is why they will often charge without apparent reason, their
sense of smell and hearing are very good.

They have an extended "vocabulary" of growls, grunts, squeaks, snorts and bellows.
When attacking, the rhino lowers its head, snorts, breaks into a gallop reaching speeds
of 30 miles an hour, and gores or strikes powerful blows with its horns. Still, for all its
bulk, the rhino is very agile and can quickly turn in a small space.

The rhino has a symbiotic relationship with oxpeckers, also called tick birds. In Swahili
the tick bird is named "askari wa kifaru," meaning "the rhino's guard." The bird eats ticks
it finds on the rhino and noisily warns of danger. Although the birds also eat blood from
sores on the rhino's skin and thus obstruct healing, they are still tolerated.

RECOUNT

My experience met with taufik hidayat

Orientation:
Last sunday, there was Thomas cup badminton championship between
Indonesa and China. It was held on Istora Gelora Bung Karno. I went to
Istora Gelora Bung Karno with my Brother, Andi.
Events:
Before entering Istora Gelora Bung Karno, we looked the bus that took
Indonesian badminton team players. I saw taufik Hidayat, Muhammad
Ahsan, Hendra Setiawan, Hayom Rumbaka, Angga Pratama, Rian Agung,
Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and the other Indonesian badminton
players in that bus. They were very handsome. Then, we followed that bus
to main-entrance. I found that Taufik Hidayat left from the bus. When we
wanted to get close to Taufik Hidayat, a security guard held me back. But, I
thought that security guard was familiar because He was my old friend when
I was senior high school, he was Andre. After that, he let me in, finally i
could meet Taufik Hidayat and got his signature.
Reorientation:
Then, I went back to my seat at the Istora stadium to support Indonesian
team. The supporter was very crowded. They shouted IN-DO-NE-SI-A
during the match.

Text 1

On Wednesday, my students and I went to Yogyakarta. We stayed at Dirgahayu Hotel which is

not far from Malioboro.

On Thursday, we visited the temples in Prambanan. There are three big temples, the Brahmana,
Syiwa and Wisnu temples. They are really amazing. We visited only Brahmana and Syiwa
temples, because Wisnu temple is being renovated.

On Friday morning we went to Yogya Kraton. We spent about two hours there. We were lucky
because we were led by a smart and friendly guide. Then we continued our journey to
Borobudur. We arrived there at four p.m. At 5 p.m. we heard the announcement that Borobudur
gate would be closed.

In the evening we left for Jakarta by wisata bus.
