Indicates an imminently hazardous situation, which if not avoided, may result in minor
! CAUTION injury or moderate injury.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation, which if not avoided, may result in property
CAUTION damage.
APPLICATION
This equipment is designed for power transformer. Never use this for other purposes.
CHANGZHOU TOSHIBA has no obligation to compensate for any damages, including collateral damages,
caused by abnormal conditions or failures of this equipment and connected devices.
This instruction manual is written for chief electric engineers of your company and competent persons authorized
by the chief electric engineers ( * ) .
For operation, maintenance and inspection, this instruction manual and other manuals of the associated devices
and components shall be read and understood. Workers shall follow the directions of the chief electric
engineers.
* Authorized people mean electric engineers who have received education offered by ChangZhou Toshiba.

! DANGER
Do not remove caps and covers of circuit sections fixed with bolts and
screws.
Touching the inside of these circuits may result in electric shock or deteriorate the performance of moisture-proof
seal, causing malfunction.
Do not remove the cap of the bushing test terminal or the cover of the
voltage measuring terminal.
This may generate a high voltage, causing electric shock or deteriorate the performance of moisture-proof seal,
causing malfunction.
Do not allow persons or objects to get close to the bushing in the air while
power is on.
A high voltage may cause electric shock. Before getting close to the bushing in the air, stop the operation of the
circuit, use a detector to make sure power to the line conductor connected to the bushing terminal is shut down and
ground the line conductor.
Before entering into the tank, make sure there is air inside. Also take
appropriate measures such as ventilation to secure air during work.
Failing to do so may cause suffocation or death due to oxygen deficiency, etc.
When the heavy fault protection circuit operates, immediately stop the
operations of the transformer and accessories.
Continuing their operations may expand fire, burns, injury or malfunction. After the transformer and accessories are
stopped, Contact ChangZhou Toshiba.
When an accident occurs inside the transformer, do not get close to the
transformer.
Explosion might occur.
Leakage of high temperature insulating oil or discomposed gas may cause fire, burns or suffocation.
Immediately stop operation and contact ChangZhou Toshiba.
During operation or immediately after operation of the transformer is
stopped , do not climb up a ladder or mount on the transformer.
If you touch the high temperature section, you may be shocked and stumble or fall, resulting in injury.
Before climbing up the ladder, stop the operation of the transformer.
When you climb up the ladder or you work on top of the transformer, take measures to prevent falling
(use of safety belts, etc.).

! WARNING
This may cause fire, electric shock or injury, or cause malfunction or deteriorate performance.
Do not use the transformer and accessories in a manner other than that
specified in the product specification.
This may cause fire, electric shock or injury, or cause malfunction or deteriorate performance.
For repair, special inspection , replacement of parts or transportation ,
contact ChangZhou Toshiba.
These operations require high-level expertise and special equipment. These operations carried out by persons other
than Toshiba personnel may result in fire, electric shock or injury, or cause malfunction or deteriorate performance.
Periodic inspection should be carried out by electrical technicians
appointed by the employer.
Performing wrong inspection may result in fire, electric shock or injury, or cause malfunction or deteriorate
performance.
Before starting periodic inspection, stop the operations of the transformer
and accessories.
Starting periodic inspection without stopping the transformer and accessories may result in electric shock or injury.
Do not carry out periodic inspection when it is raining or snowing or windy.
Failing to ground the equipment may result in ground fault, fire or electric shock in the event of malfunction.
Do not peep into the pressure-relief device and oil release pipe.
Doing so when high-temperature insulating oil or decomposed gas comes out may result in loss of sight, burns, etc.
Do not step onto or catch your foot on accessories, piping or cables.
This may cause you to stumble or fall, resulting in injury or damage or malfunction of the equipment.
Do not leave open the secondary circuit of the current transformer.
A high voltage may be generated during operation, causing electric shock or malfunction.
When separating the current transformer from the circuit, short all the terminals and ground one end.

! WARNING
Touching the interior of the terminal box may result in electric shock or deteriorate the performance of the
moisture-proof seal, resulting in malfunction.
Do not allow fire to get close to insulating oil.
This may cause ignition, fire or burns.
Do not use fire around the transformer.
When insulating oil or decomposed gas leaks in the event of malfunction, this may cause ignition, explosion, fire,
burns or injury. Moreover, when the transformer is operating with load, decomposed gas is always coming out of the
dehydrating breather for the tap changer, and this may cause ignition, explosion resulting in fire, bums or injury.
When working at a high place, provide stable scaffolding and use falling
prevention equipment.
Failing to do so may cause stumbling or falling, resulting in injury.
When disposing of insulating oil, dispose of it as industrial waste.
Failing to dispose of insulating oil as industrial waste may result in environment pollution or fire.
When disposing of the transformer and accessories, dispose of them as
industrial waste.
The transformer and accessories contain inflammable objects such as insulating oil, springs and edged metal
objects, etc. Failing to dispose of them as industrial waste may result in environment pollution, fire, explosion, burns
or injury.
When handling chemical substances such as oil seal, silicon compound,
etc., use them after taking safety measures compliant with MSDS.
! CAUTION
If the pressure in the tank is not equal to the atmospheric pressure, the inner pressure may cause the cover to fly,
resulting in injury.
Do not touch the cooling fan.
This may cause injury. The cooling fan may rotate without warning.
NOTE
This may cause malfunction. (Rated value: See ratings, rating name plates and specifications.)

NOTE
Operating the transformer with wires disconnected or misconnected may cause malfunction.
During operation, do not operate handle operation mechanism of the
no-voltage tap changer.
While the transformer is in operation or immediately after the transformer is
stopped, do not operate the handle of the no-voltage tap changer. operate
the handle of the no-voltage tap changer only when the oil temperature falls
to 60 or below.
Operating the handle of the no-voltage tap changer at 60 or above may cause the operation of contact of the
no-voltage tap changer to loose smoothness, causing unexpected damage.
Close the door securely.
Letting rain, dust, etc. enter the box may cause malfunction.
When abnormalities occur during operation or abnormalities are detected
during inspection, contact ChangZhou Toshiba.
[Items to be informed] : Type, number ( described on name plate ), serial number of transformer ( described on name
plate of transformer ), details of abnormalities ( state, parts, be specific ) and others (line name , phase, situation of
peripheral devices before and after abnormalities occurred, etc.)
