Interview Business Result

We have interviewed Ms. Nurul Listiana, an employee of Ibnu Sina


stationery on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016. We could not meet Mr. Fachrudin,
the owner of Ibnu Sina stationery because he was busy with his activities.
Ibnu Sina stationery is a successful wholesale and retail stationery. It
is located at Jl. Taman Siswa No. 11, Sekaran, Gunungpati, Semarang
which is a very strategic location because it is close to the elementary
school and the university. This business was established in 1994 by Mrs.
Maemunah as the first owner. Initially, it sells groceries and provide
photocopies. In 2004, the business was continued by Mrs. Maemunahs
son, Mr. Fachrudin. In 2005, the business turned into wholesale and retail
business of stationery. It name is taken from one of the famous moslem
intellectual, who named Avicenna or Ibnu Sina.
Ibnu Sina stationery have five female employees, two of whom are
students. The work schedule is divided into two shifts; morning shift from
6.00 am to 13.00 pm and afternoon shift from 13.00 pm to 21.00 pm. It
provides a wide range of stationery such as pencils, books, erasers, rulers,
desks, tools scout, etc. Within a day, this store has revenues of
approximately 1.5 million rupiahs during the holiday, 3 to 4 million rupiahs
in normal day, and could reach 7 million rupiahs in new student
orientation.
Each month, Mr. Fachrudin order merchandise ranging from 10 to 13
million rupiahs. However, during the orientation for new students can
reach 50 million rupiahs. To provide excellent service to customers,
employees must ensure the cleanliness of the store every day. It also
provides discounts to the following criteria:
purchase over 50 thousand rupiahs
purchase of specific brands
Currently, Ibnu Sina stationery has ten suppliers. In choosing a
supplier, it has a consideration like the price of products are achievable
but have good quality.
In every business activity, of course there are obstacles. Likewise,
Ibnu Sina stationery that have many competitors. However, Ibnu Sina
stationery does not think too much about it. Store always keep confident
by providing excellent service, friendly, and take a rational profit to keep
their customers. Although the promotion is only through mouth to mouth,
it name is already familiar among students, especially Unnes due to its
affordability. It sells at a price range start from Rp 500 to Rp 125.000 and
bookkeeping is done by Mrs. Maftuhah who is the wife of Mr. Fachrudin.

sale, why we sale it, and where we have to establish the
store. There are some important things we have to prepare
and preview before we establish our business. First, we
have to know what kind of our customer target and
understanding what they need. Then, we have to create
innovations or creative ideas if we want to develop our
business. To make customers satisfied with our service,
we have to service friendly, keep the store always clean,
and take a rational profit.
