Introduction:
More so than science, this station is full of riddles, tricks, and brainteasers for the campers! Your

it. Remember to be encouraging and have fun!

Materials:
1. 1-2 glass coke bottle
2. 2 cups
3. An eraser
4. A dollar bill

Instructions:
The Dollar Slap:
1. Center the dollar bill on the top of the coke bottle.
2. Put 4 quarters on the top of the dollar bill, on the coke cap.
3. Ask the campers if they can take the dollar bill out from under the quarters without
making the quarters fall off?
4. The answer: Lick your finger and slap the dollar directly down!

1. Place the two coke bottles (or cups) about a fists width away from each other
2. Ask the campers if they can use the dollar to make a bridge between the two
bottles/cokes and balance the eraser on the dollar.
3. At first, leave the dollar straight and flat (this wont work)
4. The answer: Fold the dollar like an accordion!

The riddles of Bilbo and Gollum

Gollum: Then they stand still.

What has roots as nobody sees, [Teeth]
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes, Gollum:
And yet never grows? Voiceless it cries,
[A mountain] Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Bilbo: Mouthless mutters.
Thirty white horses on a red hill, [Wind]
First they champ,
Then they stamp,
Bilbo: Gollum:
An eye in a blue face Alive without breath,
Saw an eye in a green face. As cold as death;
"That eye is like to this eye" Never thirsty, ever drinking,
Said the first eye, All in mail never clinking.
"But in low place, [Fish]
Not in high place."
[The sun] Bilbo:
No-legs lay on one-leg,
Gollum: two-legs sat near on three-legs,
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, four-legs got some.
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt. [Fish on a table,
It lies behind stars and under hills, man on a stool,
And empty holes it fills. cat gets the scraps]
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter. Gollum:
[Dark] This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Bilbo: Gnaws iron, bites steel;
A box without hinges, key, or lid, Grinds hard stones to meal;
Yet golden treasure inside is hid. Slays king, ruins town,
[An egg] And beats high mountain down.
[Time]

Two dead men got up to fight
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other!
