"He's a pretty good film maker" Really? Now, go watch Star Wars 4.

Then watch
"Star Wars" 7. Pay close attention to the character development and humor. In Star
Wars 4, the characters are complex enough for a single film, and the comedy isn't
all over the movie, like it tends to be these days. Marvel are the only ones
pulling this one decently, but i'm still not convinced with the new Guardians of
the Galaxy 2 trailer. Now back to the topic. So you watch this re-skinned star trek
movie, and notice what? That the character development is practically nonexistent.
Every single one of the characters feel cheap, emotionless husks of what could have
been the next Luke, Han and Leia. For starters, they do not have a love interest.
Second, Rey's acting is so bad it makes me cringe deep into my core, and you'd
think that with the next Star -fucking- Wars movie they'll have the time to reshoot
those 5 or 6 little scenes. Speaking of reshoots, the story was changed a few times
in development. Now that wouldn't have been a problem if they would have DELETED
THE SCENES FORM THE OLD STORY OF THE FILM! (More coming in a sec)

Remember how Finn (His background is the most disgusting unimaginative thing
about the film, and i'm speaking of the Force Awakens, so that should say
something.) crash lands on Jakku? And Poe is nowhere to be seen? (It was a really
clumsy transition, from Jakku into space from space to Jakku) That's because Poe
was supposed to die there and then. And they forgot to change that scene. Poe
abandoning his new friend? Really? Now to the comedy. All of the jokes in this film
are overacted, out of place or just bad. REALLY bad. Now the last big complain is,
J.J. played it safe. Do you remember what made the originals great at the time? It
was that there wasn't anything like it. Lucas took risks. It worked out with the
originals, not too much for episodes 1 and 2. (The 3rd one had some bad writing on
Anakin's part, but other than that i thought it was excellent. Well, maybe not
excellent but good.) Also episode 7 feels really short, you know? When you can't
pinpoint what it is, but you just leave feeling like you've wasted 2 hours and
remember like 20 minutes of important bits? Anyway, this is just my opinion as a
Legends fan. The new canon... i get why they did what they did, right, it was to
give everybody more creative freedom. But do i think they should have done it? No.
If you go out to watch any video where they mention Legends, they speak of it in a
negative fashion, and the only valid point to reinforce Legends being bad is the
green bugs bunny. In the videos they say "Yeeeah there were some good pieces like
the thrawn trilogy but, you know a green rabbit that no one's heard of is a
stronger argument." Enjoy the new movies if you can, of course. I certainly will
try. Rogue One was pretty good, but it has some issues that the following movies
released every year, which will no doubt degrade in quality rather quickly, will
also have. Where are death troopers on the Death Star?

And why is the design of Shoretroopers so different to the whole star wars
style? While the style of star wars is almost timeless, the newer designs feel too
modern. I can only hope Rian Johnson does a better job.
