Introduction

As ICT internship teacher trainee at Ruwanpura

National College of Education in 2012, I entered to R/EMB/Bodhimaluwa
Vidyalaya. When I were discussing on my projects with mentor, she
expressed that there isnt an attendance board of teachers in the school. I
discussed with the principal also. He also gave that idea itself.
Further when I discuss with the other teachers also, they
also presented their ideas on it. All of them said that there must be an
attendance board for a school. Because, teachers and students can easily
know who is the absent today and can make relief period easily. Then I
understood that attendance board of the teachers is the most necessary
thing to the school to day.
By considering those ideas, I decided to prepare the school
plan as one of our group project. There wasnt even a row plan in the
school. Therefore we had to do many task ,when the school plan is
prepared.Here ,we decided to display the plan from 3 x 5 size.
We decided to earn money from the balance of our field
trip, after getting permission from the students & parents of those who
participated to the trip.We decided to display the plan near the gate after
preparing it.

I had to take many steps to complete this project. I can summarize

this process of beginning to ending as follows.

 01) Discussion

Select the topic after discussing with the mentor.

Getting approval of the Principal of R/EMB/Bodhimaluwa Vidyalaya.
Getting approval of the supervision lecturer in Ruwanpura National
College of Education.
Discussion with a civil engineer how to design the plan.
Discussion with a hard ware & a digital print art center.

02) Getting supplied the necessary resources

Getting supplied necessary resources from the school.

04) Create the CD covers & name them

 Getting a print out to name CDs/DVDs according to a common
format.
Name CDs/DVDs manually.
Giving a number for each CD to identify them subject wise.
Inserting CDs/DVDs in to the covers.

05) Preparing the CD box & stablishing it

Assigning for a sponsor to create the glass box with 12 partitions

(2x1 1/2x1/2).
Stablishing the glass box in a suitable place in the computer
laboratory.
Inserting CDs/DVDs in to the glass box.
Naming each partition according to the subjects.

(School was supplied all expenditures to create the glass box.)

06) Prpare the inventory of the CD library

Creating the inventory of the CD library by including all CDs/DVDs.

 07) Holding an awareness programme

Holding an awareness programme for the staff.

Displaying a copy of a inventory of the CD library on the notice
board in the office.

08) Maintaining the CD library

Inserting the CDs/DVDs to the CD library & mark it in the inventory

& giving a number for new CDs/DVDs.
Keeping a note on borrowers in an another book .
Keeping an another soft copy of every softwares which are in the
CD library.

To conduct this project I collected data in many ways.

Then above data was analyzed by me to conduct my

project. After analyzing above data I was able to decide objectives
and conduct project successfully.

Results
This was the project that I should complete in my
internship teacher training period. In this project, I hoped to help to the
teachers to do their learning-teaching process successfully.And also I
wanted to give an opportunity to the students to use the computer
laboratory in their learning-teaching process. I grade pleasure to mention
,without facing any problem I was able to complete this project successfully.

After this project teachers practiced to use the computer laboratory in their
learning-teaching process. Students also participated for the learning-
teaching process actively and enthusiastically than previous days.

I can show following things as the results of this project.

Using ICT tools in class room learning-teaching process.

Using the computer laboratory in learning-teaching process..
Could be able to develop IT knowledge of the students.
Could be able to develop IT knowledge of the teachers.
Students are learning their subjects very happily & enthusiastically.

Conclusions

When I entered to class room learning-teaching process by using ICT,I had

to face for many difficulties. Then I wanted to create a good learning
environment in the school.Using ICT tools in the learning-teaching process
is the best way for that.According to that I decided to prepare a CD
collection as my project.

After getting approval for this project ,I tried to find necessary softwares to
the CD collection.After informing to the teachers about it,they supported
me to find softwares.Students also supported me to find necessary
softwares.They did it very enthusiastically.Not only teachers,students also
were waiting until finish this project.Students & teachers happily agreed
with this project.After stablishing the CD box,every person evaluated it.
After holding the awareness programme,teachers used the computer
laboratory to do their learning-teaching process successfully.At the
beginning of this process,ICT teachers had to help them.But later they
practiced to do it alone.
After stablishing the CD library all students engaged with works
enthusiastically. Students motivated well.They came to the laboratory to
use the computers when they are free. Students like to learn without
traditional learning-teaching process.I think this Project was important for
it. I could finish this project successfully.

Suggestions

Make a hardware board in the computer laboratory.

Make a notice / creative board infront of the computer laboratory.

 The problems faced of the project Implementation

I had to spend much time to find necessary softwares.

When empty CDs/DVDs are bought,had face echonomical

difficulties.

After assigning to make the glass box for relevant person,he

hadnt completed it .

When CDs are written, I had to get much time to do it.

Sometimes teachers ideas were very different.Then I was

to accept their various decisions and suggestions.

Although I had to face many problems, I was able to complete
my project successfully.
