SKILL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM AT DoMS NIT TRICHY

OCTOBER 9, 2015.
TIRUCHIRAPALLI
The first day of the employability skill enhancement program commenced at 9 pm, at
the barn hall of National Institute of Tiruchirapalli. Students in formal blazers were seen
buzzing about the department, and several delegates from other colleges also
participated enthusiastically for the event.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Professor Dr.G.Kannabiran, HoD (i/c) MBA
department, NIT Trichy, after which Dr.G.Muruganantham briefed about the program
whilst being presided over by the Dean (Academic) of NIT Trichy, Dr.S.Arul Daniel.
The chief guest of the program was Mr.Ravi Kumar, Chairman of Zanec Ltd, India, USA,
UK.
Finally the inaugural ceremony came to an end as Mr.S.Shadin, representative of the first
year MBA batch of DoMS, delivered the vote of thanks.
Soon after the tea break, The first session began with Writer and Motivational Speaker,
Mr.Soma Valliapan Trainer and HR consultant of Menmai Management Consultancy
Services, Chennai delivered a stirring speech on Hitting the Bulls Eye.
This was followed by Mrs.Anuradha Nagarajan, Aluminus of TSM Madurai, and a HR
consultant based in Chennai, delivering a very inspiring and worthwhile address on
Craft your Resume and Skill Inventory in which she stressed about the importance of a
detailed and accurate resume in ones career.
The delegates and the panel members dispersed for lunch later, where the delegates got
to interact with the panel members and talk to them about recent trends in the Industry.
The first session after the Lunch break was by Mr.A.S.Samad, AGM-HR, BHEL-Trichy on
HR Managers expectations from potential applicant in which he talked about skills
and expectations a HR manager would expect from an applicant and he also briefed
about the working nature in a Public Sector Company like BHEL.
The second session for the afternoon was by Mr.V.Pandiraj, IRS, Deputy Director, and
Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence, Kolkata. He delivered a motivating
speech on Tips on Competitive Exams, with a detailed insight on the Civil Services
examination.
After a short tea break, the best was saved for the last, and Prof. K. Balasubramanian,
CEO, Creative Management Consultancy, Trichy, gave a truly awe-inspiring and
enthralling speech on Intuitive Thinking. He instilled the passion for innovation and
original thinking amongst the audience that was truly captivated by the dynamics of his
thoughts.
The first day of the Employability Skill Enhancement program was everything that it
was expected to be A complete package of all the basic things a Student needs to know
in order to land a promising career.
After all, its not every day that we see a panel of eleven distinguished industry experts
on the same panel ready to give Industry insights to a fresh and keen audience of
young students.
