GUIDELINES FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

1. The time allocated for the oral presentation will be as follow: 10-minutes presentation and
5-minutes Q&A session. You will hear a bell at the 8-minutes mark to notify that there is
only two minutes left for presentation and 10-minutes mark to signal the end of
presentation time.

2. An LCD projector (using Microsoft Powerpoint 97-2003) shall be provided to facilitate your
presentation.

3. We would like to suggest that you use sufficiently large fonts and legible typefaces to enable
participants to read the presentation. Do not cram too much information into each slide.

4. Please kindly submit your CD or virus-free thumb-drive to the Secretariat at the Slide
Preview Area at least two (2) hours before the time scheduled for your presentation.

5. In case of any problems, please contact the Secretariat at the registration desk.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

1. Please include the research title, abstract, introduction (background study and objectives),
methodology, results, discussion and conclusion in a form of summarized texts, figures,
graphs, photos, tables, etc., in the poster.

2. The completed poster must be A1 size (594mm width x 841mm height) and in portrait
orientation.

3. You will be informed of your poster board number at the time of your registration. All
poster presenters are required to be present at the poster stand during the poster-viewing
times (refer to programme book).

4. We would really appreciate it if you could put up your poster by 0830 hours on the event
day. Your poster must be removed after 1730 hours later of the day.

5. In case of any problems, please contact the Secretariat at the registration desk.
GUIDELINES FOR PICTHING PRESENTATION

1. You will be given 3 minutes to brief your presentation orally.

2. The presentation should include:


- the topic of your research
- what is the problem issue or research question that you are asking in your research
- why is that problem/issue interesting or important
- how does your work connect to a broader disciplinary issues
3. Tips:
- be creative in your delivery & show enthusiasm
- avoid jargon and use simple but specific words/terminologies,
- use positive impression and creative approach to capture audience interest,
- 3 mins Ms powerpoint show/1-3 slides is preferable.

4. Assessment will be made based on use of time, presentation style, creativity & scientific
merit of the research project.
