GRADING
What you can expect from me

MAKE-UP WORK:
For UNPLANNED excused absences, students have 3 days to make up work missed.
Upon returning to school after an unplanned absence, students should
1. Review any missed assignments from your assignment sheet and check website.
2. Check the make-up bin to receive any handouts you missed during your absence.
3. If you missed a test, you must make it up before or after school within the three days
otherwise you will receive a zero. If you have had an extended absence, see me to work
out the details of make-up work.
4. Quizzes cannot be made up. Your grade on the test that includes that material will count
twice: once for the actual test and once for the missing quiz grade.
For PLANNED excused absences:
If you are absent due to a school function, or pre-planned trip, etc., you are expected to get your
assignments ahead of time and come to class with all assignments complete. You should be prepared
to take any previously scheduled tests/quizzes.
**For any absence: If you miss ONLY a review day, you will be required to take the test with the rest of
the class.**

LATE WORK/EXTRA CREDIT/EXTRA TIME: Late work will NOT be accepted. Bonus
points will be available for the whole class. Do NOT ask for individual extra credit points. If you cannot
finish a test during the standard class time, you have the option to come for 20 minutes after school ON
THE SAME DAY, but 7 points will be deducted from your test score.

CHEATING: Receiving or giving any unauthorized assistance on any part of an assignment will
result in academic and disciplinary consequences, up to out of school suspension. At a minimum, zero credit
on the assignment and official documentation of the unethical behavior will result.

EXTRA HELP/RECOVERY?
If you should find yourself in need of extra help, MathLab tutoring will be available TUESDAYS and
THURSDAYS from 8 9 a. m. in ROOM 308. Also, study groups can work MONDAYS and
WEDNESDAYS in my room from 8:20 - 9 a. m. where I will be present to assist you if needed. Do
not hesitate to let me know if you are struggling. Additional afternoon times can be scheduled with
me directly.

DISCIPLINE POLICY
The majority of discipline issues have the following sequence of consequences:
1st offense Warning/student-teacher meeting
2 offense

Warning and parent contact/possible ASD
3rd offense Office referral

MONITORING GRADES
Grades will be updated regularly and progress reports will be distributed mid-9-weeks for
students making below a C average. Parents and students are encouraged to check online for
grades and inform me promptly if anything seems amiss.
