Daily supplies: Do we get to use calculators?
Math Binder (Blue)
5 Tab Dividers Calculators will be permissible during class and on
Lined Paper (in binder) homework at the teachers discretion. When using
Pencil calculators, they will be available during class.
Student Planner However, it is recommended that you have a
Novel calculator of your own to use at home and/or
3 Subject Notebook during study time (when permissible). It needs only
Calculator (optional) to be a basic calculator with the square root ( )

the learning the prerequisite skills and concepts in Algebra. Units covered:
Real Numbers
Algebraic Expressions
Equations & Inequalities
Ratios, Proportions, & Percents
Functions, Graphs, and Linear Equations
Two-Dimensional Geometry
Three-Dimensional Geometry
Probability & Statistics
After successfully completing this course, the student should be prepared for
Algebra I.

How are we graded in this class?

Homework
o Homework is checked the day after you get the assignment. You will receive
a total of 4 points per assignment if you complete the assignment, showing all
work.
Notebooks
o Notebooks will be given a grade at the end of every unit.
Quizzes
o A quiz will be given after a few concepts in each unit are covered.
Tests & Projects
o A test or project is given at the end of every unit.

Extra Credit What happens if we dont

There are many opportunities for extra
credit in this class. There is a daily
challenge problem on the board, which
can be done for extra credit each week.
There will also be occasional extra credit
worksheets for extra points. Finally, there
will be extra credit on some quizzes and
all tests.

The RMS Homework Policy will be followed.
Students will be expected to make a homework
appointment that day after school, the following
morning, or the next day after school. If the student
decides to skip they will receive an office referral
and will loose points towards their grade.

Can we retake tests and Quizzes?

Tests & quizzes can be retaken before or after school with an appointment. Once in my room you must correct
the mistakes you made on your quiz or test on my test correction form. When it is turned in you will receive
half credit back on the problems you answer correctly. It is your choice to make corrections, however, if you
score below a 75%, I will request that you make corrections.

What can we do to be successful?

Do your HOMEWORK There is quite a bit of homework, but it is meant to help
you. If you have trouble with the homework, dont wait until class to ask for help (It
will be late!). See me before school or after school!
STUDY for Tests & Quizzes Practice, practice, practice the skills we are learning!
Study vocabulary. Practicing will help!
Keep up with your Notebook Your notebook is your lifeline. If you are absent,
make sure you make up all the notes, especially since they are graded.
ASK QUESTIONS!!! Dont be afraid to ask for help. Im available before & after
school most days.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am a graduate of College of Saint Mary. This is my 5th year at RMS and I am super
excited to work with the students, parents, and the community of Ralston. When not at
school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Michael, and my 8 year-old son, Brayden,
and my 1 year old daughter, Kennedy. I also like to be outside, I enjoy reading, listening to
music, and watching sports; I am a huge sports fan! Go Huskers and Creighton Basketball!!
