ONLINE PAYMENT OF ELECTRIC BILLS SYSTEM

Introduction

Almost every work and tasks done by people today are already
accompanied by machines. Using these machines, their works become
easier and is done in the shortest possible time. These machines
also act as storage of their important files. Also, using machines
connected to the internet, people can work at home and earn money
without leaving their houses.

One of the signs of an aggressively progressing country is

the continuous innovation of relevant technology. Since people
nowadays are engaged to various tasks that sometimes exhaust and
consume much of their time, the proponents are developing a new
system of paying electric bills via online transactions. In this
system of paying electric bills, minimum knowledge about the use
of computer is necessary.

Using this system, the customers can easily track their

billings and pay them without the need of going to the electric
companies themselves. They should just connect their devices to
the internet and with one click, their bills will be paid already.
The amount of their monthly bill will be credited to their
respective banks. For those who dont have bank accounts, they can
still pay their bills at the electric company. The system will
only cover the barangays in Naga City.

Objectives of the Study

 This study aims to develop a new system that will provide
the following objectives:

1. To provide a faster, cheaper and more convenient method of

paying electric bills.
2. To administer a safe and secure option in paying electric
bill for those busy people.
3. To give a less time-consuming way of paying electric bills.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to find out a faster, easier, and safer way
of paying electric bills. Specifically, it answers the following
questions:

1. How does the online payment of electric bill work?

2. What is the benefit of paying an electric bill through online
transactions?
3. What is the disadvantage of the online payment of electric
bills?

Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on developing a new system that will

improve the process of paying electric bill by the use of the
internet. The system will only cover the barangays in Naga City
namely; Abella, Bagumbayan Norte, Bagumbayan Sur, Balatas,
Calauag, Cararayan, Concepcion Grande, Concepcion Pequea,
Dayangdang, Del Rosario, Dinaga, Igualdad, Lerma, Liboton, Mabolo,
Pacol, Panicuason, Peafrancia, Sabang, San Felipe, San Francisco,
San Isidro, Santa Cruz, Tabuco, Tinago and Triangulo. The system
does not include the municipalities outside Naga City.

Project Specification
 For the use of Personal computers, the program is compatible
only to Windows 7 and higher. And the device should have at least
2GB of Random Access Memory (RAM). And for android devices, the
application is compatible to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and higher and
should have at least 1GB of RAM for the application to work
smoothly. The device should also be connected to the internet for
it to use the application.

Feasibility Study

a. Operational Feasibility

The current process of payment of electric bills, in

which the customers go directly to the electric companies
to pay their bills, gives the customers the burden of
worrying if they will meet the due date of the payment.
Due to the one-by-one transactions, the customers that have
reached the cut-off would have to come again the next day
and the same situation may still occur. In the proposed
project, many transactions can be done simultaneously.
In the current process, the company hires personnel
that distributes the bills to the users. In this method
the bills of a customer may be received just a week or
weeks before the due date which gives the customer the
problem of paying the monthly bill at the due date. While
in the new process, the amount and summary of accounts of
a customer can be seen by using the application.
Using the new system, the burdens to both the company
and customers will be eliminated for the whole process can
be done easily while staying at home. Also, the customers
would not have to travel and commute just to pay their
bills.
 b. Technical Feasibility

The proposed system provides the customers the

benefits of lessening their expenses when paying their
monthly electric bills. Also, this will minimize the
possibility of problems to arise when paying their bills.
This system would also help the companies to accommodate
as many customers as they can everyday.
Most people today already have their own phones and
personal laptops or computers. These will be the primary
instruments that will help the project to be successful.
The internet can now be also used in most of the places
and it will be the thoroughfare of the system.

Suggestion and Recommendation

The new process of paying electric bills can reduce the man
power needed to facilitate the issuance and payment of bills and
it is more accessible to those who are busy in their respective
jobs especially now that it is available online.

The proponents recommend the use of this system to lessen the

time needed in paying bills, speed up processing of transactions,
and minimize errors.

goods or service.
Innovation can be defined simply as a new idea or method.
Machine an apparatus consisting of interrelated parts with
separate functions, used in the performance of some kind of work.
Random Access Memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage
which stores frequently used program instruction to increase the
general speed of a system.
System is a set of interacting or interdependent component parts
forming a complex or intricate whole.
Technology is a collection of techniques, skills, method,
and process used in the production of goods or service.
