Just to add I have already proposed them an alternate to run the below
script once

in a month for full one month duration & save it offline so that customer
can

use these files for future references offline.

Hello Didier,

Yesterday we had a conf call with TPM. He was mentioning customer is


comparing our

equipment with other vendors ie Huwaei, ZTE etc who are capable of
delivering as

per customer needs. Inspite of design limitation they fulfill the


customization

requirements either by quick enhancements or working alternates.

Can we make some working alternates if no quick enhancements are possible?

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh is automatically

launched every morning.

Each day the result file can be found under


/opt/nortel/data/stabilty/utran. It

contains the alarms raised the day before + the alarms still active.

But there is filter and not all the alarms are extracted.
If you want to extract all the alarms with no filter, you can use the
script as

follows:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -prevday -
filterAlarm

none -o <the_file_you_want>

This script was designed to extract alarms for one day, not a full month.

to use it for one month may not work, will take a long time and will
generate a

huge fil which will be very difficult to manipulate

Hello Karim,

We have got a fresh update form TEC.


Let me conclude it as below:

TEC confirmed no direct solutions will be possible via technical support


chain of

TSC, TEC because it is working as per existing design. So extending HFB


alarms

beyond 1 month will be a new feature request to get the design change done.

Please check with TPM/MSM on how to raise the new feature request.

The only alternate is via running the script month wise and saving the
files

somewhere for offline reference as I suggested in my previous mail.

Please find further details related to the script:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh is automatically

As you know alarms are stored in dbms that's why it is having capacity
limitation

of 1 month.

We are checking with TEC once again if any alternate is possible.

Do you think running the HFB script, I shared with you in different mail
chain,

once in a month & save it somewhere in windows or Unix machine is an

alternate? Customer then can use it for a reference offline.

Hello Karim,

We have got a fresh update form TEC.

Let me conclude it as below:

TEC confirmed no direct solutions will be possible via technical support


chain of

TSC, TEC because it is working as per existing design. So extending HFB


alarms

beyond 1 month will be a new feature request to get the design change done.

Please check with TPM/MSM on how to raise the new feature request.

The only alternate is via running the script month wise and saving the
files

somewhere for offline reference as I suggested in my previous mail.

Please find further details related to the script:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh is automatically

launched every morning.

Each day the result file can be found under


/opt/nortel/data/stabilty/utran. It

contains the alarms raised the day before + the alarms still active.

But there is filter and not all the alarms are extracted.

If you want to extract all the alarms with no filter for one day ie
previous one
day, you can use the script as

follows:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -prevday -
filterAlarm

none -o <the_file_you_want>

This script was designed to extract alarms for one day, not a full month.
Trying

to use it for one month may not work, will take a long time and will
generate a

huge file which will be very difficult to manipulate. But since you have
already

extracted it you can check if it is useful else please proceed for new
feature

request for a direct solution.

beyond 1 month will be a new feature request to get the design change done.

Local team should check with TPM/MSM on how to raise the new feature
request which

is out of AR scope.
The only alternate is via running the script month wise and saving the
files

somewhere for offline reference.

Please find further details related to the script:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh is automatically

launched every morning.

Each day the result file can be found under


/opt/nortel/data/stabilty/utran. It

contains the alarms raised the day before + the alarms still active.

But there is filter and not all the alarms are extracted.

If custmer want to extract all the alarms with no filter for one day ie
previous

one day, you can use the script as

follows:

/opt/nortel/shell/stability/utran/utranAlarmDataExtract.sh -prevday -
filterAlarm

none -o <the_file_you_want>

This script was designed to extract alarms for one day, not a full month.
Trying

to use it for one month may not work, will take a long time and will
generate a

huge file which will be very difficult to manipulate. But since customer
have

already extracted and allowed to close the AR.
