helped the staff m em ber s r un their classes.
W ithout the CITs cam p w ould be so m uch
differ ent, and w e hope to see all of you guys

have looked up to the CITs her e. They taught
m e (w ithout even know ing) w hat a good CIT

Sar ah, and Jor dyn have totally vanished. And Lor d
know s w her e Rashana has got to.
5:22 pm , Tex t i l es Su i t e ? Ther esa has gone to the
bathr oom , and com es back tw enty m inutes later ,
r ed in the face and panting.

to him and-? But she is suddenly cut off. A cold w ind
sw eeps acr oss the suddenly silent constr uction site,
the sound of m uted laughter echoing along w ith it.
?W h-w hat w as that?? Lily?s voice shakes w ith
fear.
?I don?t know ,? r eplies Kather ine, and for the
fir st tim e the facade of myster ious silence dr ops
fr om her voice and r eal fear seeps thr ough.
Em ily w hisper s som ething to her , and her
eyes bulge slightly w ith shock . ?Uh, uh, uh I m ean-w e
have to-? But she never gets to finish her sentence.
Seem ingly out of now her e, six cloaked figur es,
dr essed in all black and w ith their face obscur ed,
descend on the constr uction site. Clar e scr eam s, and
Sim enesh star ts to cr y. Each figur e lifts a CIT off their
feet and hover s a few feet in the air , One of
them ? the tallest one? gr abs an extr a tw o. At the
com m and of one of the cloaked figur es (clear ly the
leader ) they lift up, higher , and higher.
Just befor e they r each the tr eeline, Kather ine
scr eam s fr om the hold of the tallest figur e,
?EVERYBODY! KICK, DROP, TUCK, AND ROLL!? But
only Cam is capable of kicking his captor , jum ping
fr om his or her clutches, and tucking into a ball. He
and Kather ine hit the gr ound r olling, and stand by,
helpless, as their fr iends ar e car r ied aw ay in the
dir ection of the Old Building.
?It m ust have been the cultists!? Cam says,
slapping him self in the face.
?Yeah. They w er e dr aw n to us all standing
together unpr otected!? Kather ine says.
?Then w e better pr otect our selves,? says Cam
gr im ly. And the tw o of them r un off, ducking behind
tr ees and in and out of buildings in the dir ection of
Cr eative Star ts.

join her fr iends behind the castle.

Abby and Ther esa m ake a place for Rachel to
sit on the gr ound. Shm illy continues to star e at the
Walkw ay and the Old Building.

?Hey guys,? says Cam in a stage w hisper.
?W hat?s up??
Abby shr ugs as Rachel pins a cloak ar ound
her fr iend's shoulder s. ?Oh, not m uch. Just, you
know , saving the w or ld fr om an invading dem on
hor de!?
?W ith the pow er of fr iendship,? sighs Sam m i
happily, as she finishes yet another fr iendship
br acelet.
?Oookay,? says Kather ine ner vously, cover ing
her w r ists. ?So, um , do you guys have a plan to defeat
M addie and the cult-people or ? ??
?Oh, yeah, w e do,? says Ther esa, snipping the
end of a fr iendship br acelet and fastening it on
Sam m i?s w r ist.
?And w e?r e alm ost r eady to im plem ent it!?
says Shm illy. ?OM G!? She tur ns to her fr iends.
At the sam e tim e, Rachel, Abby, Ther esa and
Sam m i all yell, ?GUYS!? Shm illy tur ns back to Cam
and Kather ine.

Shm illy yells.
?Let?s go!? laughs Cam , allow ing Abby to
fasten a br acelet ar ound his w r ist.
5:56 pm , Th e Fi el d ? Rashana appear s am ongst the
br anches of a sm all, or nam ental tr ee, and she
ar r anges her self so she is per fectly obscur ed in its
thick br anches. Shm illy, Abby, Ther esa, Sam m i,
r achel, Cam , and Kather ine skip by below her ,
singing. Rashana begins to hum an off-key ver sion of
their song.
?FRIENDSHIP FRIENDSHIP LALALALALALA,?
they sing. Suddenly, the w ar m air tur ns cold and
Kather ine and Cam have a sudden feeling of deja-vu.
The gr oup stops and they all look up at the dar kening
sky, par alyzed w ith fr ight. Four black clouds seem to
be spir aling tow ar ds them , getting bigger and bigger ,
car r ying w ith them the scent of br im stone, decay,
and a sw ir ling, cold stor m . Over the w ind, Shm illy
yells, ?IT?S THE CULTISTS! RUN!!? But it is too late.
Each cloud (r eally, cult per son) snatches up a CIT and
m akes a gr ab for another. Only Shm illy, Cam , and
Kather ine ar e quick enough to escape: Kather ine and
Cam , by vir tue of exper ience, and Shm illy because
she punches a cultist in the face. All thr ee hit the
gr ound. Shm illy m akes a gr ab for Abby?s cloak as the
cloaked figur es begin to lift up again. Cam jum ps and
tr ies to gr ab for Sam m i, and Shm illy stands on her
tippy-toes to tr y and r each Ther esa, but all they get
ar e handfuls of fabr ic. As the cold stor m begins to
dissipate and the cultists disappear , Shm illy br eaks
dow n, the cloaks of her fr iends clutched in her
hands. ?NOOOO! NOOOO!? she w ails. Cam com for ts
her.

Shm illy nods. ?Ever ything's all w oven

cloaks over their heads. But just as they ar e about
to descend into the basem ent, w hich now glow s

?Oh, guys!? says Kather ine, tr ying to keep

The cultists stir. Br ainw ashed by M addie, they
r ave pow er above all else. M addie thinks.

Cam . Shm illy, Rashana and Kather ine
stand. ?Okay, it?s just ar ound her e. But, uh, ther e
just one thing: if the dr inker of the potion isn't

The cultists w hisper am ongst them selves.
Then, M addie lads hem out of the hallw ay and
into the hostage cor ner. They cr ow d in, leaving
the door to the hallw ay to now her e open. On a
table sits the ?blood potion?
?W ho is w or thy?? asks Kather ine,
gestur ing gr andly to the glass. ?W hhhooo issss
w or thhyy?? m im ics Rashana. M addie pushes
for w ar d.
?I! I am the w or thiest,? she shr ieks. She takes a
long, deep sip fr om the glass. ?It tastes like ? cher r ies.?
She leans for w ar d, and in snap, she is pulled under the
table.
?YAAAGGHHHH!? she scr eam s. ?NOOOO! I AM
WORTHY!?
?I guess not,? shr ugs Shm illy. ?W ho?s next??
One by one each, cultist steps for w ar d. And one
by one, they sw ing back into 14 nets w oven fr om
fr iendship br acelets. Their hoods fall off, and the
pow er of fr iendship dulls their cr ies except for M addie)
and clear s their m inds (except for M Addie). The snar es
look like they w ouldn't hold Wum bo, but it did. Once
ever yone is tr apped and cleansed, Shm illy and
Kather ine and Cam and Rashana r elease all their
fr iends for m the nets. Finally, only M addie r em ains.
Shm illy steps up to her.
?Ar e you r eady to be fr iends, M addie?? Shm illy
asks, poking her.
?NOOOO FRIENDS!? She shr ieks. ?ALASTaiR!

For step one, you need to get hold of Aar on?s
per sonal infor m ation. We need to get som e dir t on
him if w e w ant to star t the r evolution. Tr y and get
ahold of his tax r etur ns and figur e out w hich illegal
sour ce he gets his m oney fr om . You m ight w ant to
pr int out his cr im inal r ecor ds. So far w e only have
gotten hold of a few of his audacious cr im es,
including tw o separ ate cases of ar son (no one w as
har m ed, thankfully), extor tion, espionage, tax fr aud,
tax evasion, and five cases of illegal fir ew or k
oper ations.
Step Tw o: Blackm ail
For step tw o, w e have to use the evidence w e found
fr om step one against Aar on. Use an unlisted
num ber and a voice m or pher and thr eaten him w ith
your sought-after infor m ation. After he com plies to
do w hatever you w ant as long as you don?t r elease
the infor m ation, tell him to leave the cam p and put
[per son of your choice] in char ge. Just m ake sur e
that they have a cr im inal r ecor d, secr ets they don?t
w ant other people to know , and ar e susceptible to
blackm ail.
Step Thr ee: Repeat Step One W ith New Head
We need you to find out all the dir t you can on the
new head.
Step Four : Blackm ail (But Not Like Step Tw o)
After digging up all the dir t you can on the new head
of cam p, thr eaten them into fir ing all the counselor s
and CITs. After that for ce him or her into r esigning.
Step Five: Release Aar on And [Per son]?s Infor m ation
Anyw ays.
Just for pr ecautions, for step five w e have to r elease
their infor m ation to the gener al public anyw ays. To
do this, sim ply r epor t their illegal activities to the
local police. But w ait! You can?t! We have intel that
Aar on had suspected som ething like this m ay
happen, and paid off the local police. So for a safety
m easur e, just keep him in a Saw type scenar io. Chain
his leg to a pipe, blah, blah, blah. Just m ake sur e that
both of them ar e ther e, Aar on and [Per son].
Step Six:
Change the cam p to a com m unist dictator ship.
Nice job! Now the cam per s have taken over the
cam p!
CRCAP Evacu at i on

Editor's Note: This is an imaginative survival story
by two creative writers. It is not meant to be
disturbing, but rather to celebrate the unique
personalities of camp's CITs. However, those who
find space scary may not want to read. We would
rate this article PG-11. Enjoy!
Day 1; 2:49 PM ; CRCAP: The Guest Ar tist that
visited CRCAP had told the CITs and Counselor s of
CRCAP that they w ould need to evacuate soon. They
suddenly get a w ar ning on their phones, stating:
?WARNING: EVACUATE EARTH NOW ?. The staff
spr ings into action, dr agging the gigantic r ockets
unknow ingly hidden in the w oods, and r ounding
up the kids fr om their 6th per iod classes to the
playgr ound field. The kids gaw k at the r ockets
befor e being her ded into gr oups. Som e kids soon
notice that the gr oups ar e divided by staff kids and
non-staff kids. The staff kids ar e her ded onto the
3r d r ocket and begin to sur vey their sur r oundings.
As they do, m ayhem r eigns outside as the r est of
the cam per body is sent to the fir st r ocket. The staff
is m illing ar ound, attaching things to the sides of
the r ockets and connecting them . The CITs ar e
being quite unhelpful, sitting ar ound on the gr ass
of the playgr ound field and chatting about their
Snapchats. Just then, Aar on com es over and tells
them to go into the second r ocket. They oblige and
begin to stake out ter r itor y. Ever yone is m illing
ar ound inside their r espective r ockets as they
decide w hich beds they w ant. W hen things finally
calm dow n, the counselor s count dow n and they
lift off.
Day 1: 10:57 PM ; Rock et 1: M ost of the kids ar e
sound asleep, but a few kids ar e chatting and
posing for cute snaps. Then the CITs appr oach the
chatting cam per s. The CITs go over to tell the
cam per s it?s tim e to go to bed. The cam per s obey
r eluctantly, and as the CITs see that all of the
cam per s ar e asleep, they go to bed them selves in
their r ocket. Suddenly, a loud, obnoxious sir en goes
off. Lizzy com es r unning and scr eam ing ?The
Engines ar e about to blow !? The counselor s send
the CITs to fix the engines, and so they r un to the
giant gener ator under neath r ocket 2. Lizzy and
M ichael r un to the engine. Lizzy hits the over r ide
button, then hits it again, not know ing M ichael is
too close to one of the pistons. The piston shoots
out, hitting him in the face. Casu al t y #1: M i ch ael
W. The CITs w alk w ear ily back to the cabin as
Lizzy com es back to the cabin, w ailing for her late
fr iend.
Day 2: 6:22 AM ; Rock et 3: The Counselor s
aw ake to their kids shaking them . One kid tells
his Gr oupie Gr oup Leader , ?I hear d som eone
scr eam dur ing the night!? The counselor s ar e
intr igued, so they decide to check in w ith the
CITs and the kids. The CITs tell their sob stor y
of M ichael?s death, then ar e sent to the kids to
check in. M ost all of the CITs m ake it thr ough
the air lock, but Kather ine is in the air lock as
the CITs w ait for her. Kather ine hits the button
for the door to Rocket 1 to open, but the w r ong
door opens, dum ping her into space. Casu al t y
#2: Kat h er i n e R. All the CITs ar e hear tbr oken
but they still go to the cam per s?cabin and
check in on the still sleeping cam per s.
Day 2: 12:39 PM ; Rock et 2: The CITs begin to
over com e their new fear of air locks and they
com e back to their r ocket. They know that they
still have m any CITs to live w ith and love, so
they ar e gr ateful, and begin to chat after lunch.
W ithout anyone noticing, Laur en disappear s.
Casu al t y #3: Lau r en P. The CITs don?t seem to
notice, and they begin to play w ith a fr isbee.
Seeking to avoid the floating disk, Jor dyn goes
into the cur sed air lock w ith the intent of
playing w ith the Cr eative Star ts Kids. But she
doesn't get the chance to see the Star ts kids, as
the air lock dum ps her into space. Casu al t y # 4:
Jor dyn K.
Day 2: 7:27 PM ; Rock et 1: M ayhem is r eigning
in the kids r ocket. At least until one r esponsible
cam per com es thr ough the cur sed air lock and
successfully aler ts staff of the upr ising, and
m any CITs ar e on the w ay to help. But after all
of the CITs successfully m ake it to the kids?
cabin and calm them dow n, the staff is aler ted
of another pr oblem w ith the engine. Lizzy is
adam ant to fix the engine, but the other CITs
w er en?t sur e. Lizzy goes r unning into the
engine but collapses due to the high r adiation.
Sophie gr abs a gas m ask fr om the door and
puts it on as she r uns in. Lizzy is lying on the
floor , unconscious. Em ily sense they need help
w ith this, so she r uns in, hoping to help w ith
the fix. Just then, Sophie hits the air button.
Sophie assum es it is now okay to star t the
engine again. She does, but the air sucks at
both her and Em ily tw ice as har d as befor e, as
the air pum p needed to be w or king faster. All
thr ee ar e sucked out into space and bur ned
fr om the heat of the sun. Befor e the r est of the
CITs can?t hear them anym or e, Sophie scr eam s
?I see M ar s!? Casu al t y #5: Em i l y O.; Casu al t y
#6: Li zzy V.; Casu al t y #7 Soph i e S.

Day 3: 2:55 AM ; Rock et 2: The CITs aw ake to a loud alar m .
Their oxygen pipe is clogged. This r equir es one of the CITs to
go onto the r oof of the r ocket to fix it. The CITs cast lots, and
Rashana is chosen to m ake the fix. She puts on her spacesuit
and affixes her cable to her w aist. She goes into the air lock
and hits the button. She floats out into space befor e dir ecting
her self tow ar ds the ar ea of the clogged pipe. She opens the
com par tm ents and gives the pipe a m ighty w hack . The dust
clogging the pipe (Rashana senses it has a bit of Shm illy?s
hair s in it) flies past her face. As Rashana tur ns ar ound to go
back to the cabin, she sees her cable go loose. The end
sw ings out and dr ags her into deep space. Casu al t y #8:

Day 3: 7:00 AM ; Rock et 3: The Counselor s and Aar on m ake
the planned steer and fir e tow ar ds M ar s. As they steer the
r ockets, CIT Clar e is tossed into the elevator by the for ce, and
as the r ocket r e-acceler ates, the elevator begins to r ise and
bur sts into space as the top of the r ocket is r ecover ed and
r eattached. But no one can save Clar e as the elevator dr aw s
near er to the sun. Casu al t y #9: Cl ar e D.
Day 3: 9:58 PM ; Rock et 2: The CITs ar e about to go to bed,
just as Abby goes into the air lock to say goodnight to the
Cr eative Star ts kids, but she gets too excited and accidentally
pr esses the ?no air ? button in the air lock . Casu al t y #10:
Abby I . The CITs notice her absence and Chloe goes to check
on her in the air lock, but she too, discover s the lack of air.

Day 4: 6:24 AM ; Rock et 1: The counselor s aw ake to a loud
r ipping sound. They decide som eone either r ipped a space
suit or ? they stop dead in their tr acks as they see out the
w indow. Rockets 2 and 3 have separ ated fr om Rocket 1 and
ar e hur tling tow ar ds M ar s. The counselor s r elax as they see
that Rocket 2 is going to take the br unt of the dam age.
Although the counselor s hur t for their CIT fr iends, they hope
none w ill get hur t in the collision.

Day 4: 8:02 PM ; CI T an d Cam per
Gr ou p: The CITs have gotten
hungr y, so they decide to cast lots
again. Rachel is the unlucky one,
and she is killed for the CITs?

Day 5: 12:20 PM ; M ar s Cou n sel or &
Fam i l y gr ou p: The gr oup ar r ives at
the w r eck to find the entir e cam per
body fine, but the CITs lack in

at M ar s until another par ty com es
and a new society is bor n.
